Best Manual for dash removal
Best Manual for dash removal
So I just bought a 2007 mustang GT and I am cleaning up a bunch of little things to bring the car up to spec. I am going to have to replace the mode door actuator and I can see that the dash will need to come out. The local shop I trust wants 350 in labor and I think I can do it. If anybody has a good recommendation on what manual is the best or they like I will stat there. Thanks for any help!
Here ya go:

Start with the console, then the center instrument stuff, then the entire dash after that. This is the 'bulk get it out' version, where you don't even take out the airbag or remove the dash trim pieces or ducts. Just yank out the entire dash complete. You *will* want a person to help ya with that, perhaps two...
Have fun! *said with a knowing groan...*

The manual doesn't show any dash removal for mode actuators but they are not easy to get to. A few pieces of duct need to be removed to access the left side actuator. If the actuator doors are broken the dash more than likely needs removal.

In case that'll help. And no, none of that's gonna be easy, since the car is literally built around the Heater/Evap core assembly.
I know on my 05, I had at least 2 maybe all 3 actuators out when I was trying to troubleshoot why I had little air flow to the floor while in Floor Mode and most out the defroster ducts. Ford wouldn't cover warranty claiming it worked as designed. I bought a used Climate Control Module from a wrecked 07 Shelby and I finally had control where I wanted the airflow distributed. After doing some research I found Ford did some HVAC redesign in mid year 06 production, particularly the upper defrost duct/demister area and other areas. There was a fair amount of documentation, including tsb's and special service bulletins, on this site with this issue, until the site crashed.
