Best Kill yet - New Viper
My wife and I were going out for pizza last night. We were heading East on a local six-lane with the top down. I stopped at a light and was waiting for it to change to green. I see in my mirror a new (05-06) beautiful silver Viper pulling up to my right and then he stopped next to me at the light. I looked over at him and he looked back and nodded.
My wif said, "Don't do it, don't do it". The light changed to green.
He hit it. I rolled for about 15 feet and then I hit it all the way. I could hear his car screaming over mine. You could not imagine how big my smile was when I passed him and pulled two cars on him by 80 MPH.
We came up on some traffic and both had to slow. he quickly changed over two lanes and took off again, apparently embarrassed that his expensive Viper was just smoked by a lowly Mustang. Even my wife enjoyed that kill!

I have an intercooled KB @ 10 psi , Stage III trans, 3200 billett stall, 3.73, custom 6-point rollbar, aluminum driveshaft etc. etc. etc.
I ran 11.7 Friday night at the track 3 times out of 4 runs.
1.6 for my 60' time.
I have smoked Z06 before but never a newer Viper. It was even more satisfying because of the V-10. I think he was speachless!

U da man!
Nice kill. I was rolling after reading your wife saying "don't you do it.. don't you do it".. and you buried the pedal anyway! I fully understand. My wife told me she won't drive with me anymore if I can't learn to refuse challenges

Yes she hates when I get in stoplight encounters....
I had to do it though, as I explained to her. How many chance encounters like that happen?

I have owned many Mustangs:
1968 GT K code stick
1969 Mach 1 428 CJ stick
1985 GT vert stick
1987 GT vert stick
1991 LX auto
2006 GT auto but.........
I love the five speed auto in this car the best for going fast! It performs really well at the track. I would not want a stickshift with the blower in this car. The auto is consistent too. I ran 11.7 three times and 11.8 once on Friday's test & tune. The 11.8 was after driving to the track without cool-down.
Auto with stall speed rocks with forced induction!
1.6 60 ft time with stock suspension says it all. I am still working on my launch technique so next week we will brake-torque it to 3200 RPM on launch to try and knock down that 60' some more.
