On my way home from LA yesterday I swung by the Saleen Store in Irvine to check out Barricade, which was advertised to be on display. I was bummed when I got there and saw that it wasnt Barricade but a replica and an obvious one too. I asked where was the real one and the Saleen salespeople at the counter told me that the one used in the movie was in Detroit and that the one in the store was an employees created for display in the store. I then asked why didnt they put all the correct decals and lightbar on and they then directed me to the second car, the press car, which was on display in front of the movie theater at the other end of the Spectrum. So I drove over there, finally going to see a real Barricade, and once again was let down. Same exact car except with a light bar and matte black wheels instead of chrome black. Oh well, the cars are still really cool and stand out. I wouldnt mind owning one; only if I had a second I would turn it into Barricade myself, but do it right.

P.S. I went and seen the movie today and thought it was pretty FREAKIN sweet.
Specially when you hear Optimus Primes voice for the first time in the movie.

Yeah Optimus Prime speaking for the first time is what did it for me, they got his voice right on.
The Barricade Saleen sounded MEAN in the movie though, much better than the fake Camaro.

 

That's because Peter Cullen the voice from the cartoon did it.

 

I would love to repaint my car to look like that but was already warned by a few of my cop buddies that I would most likely get pulled over and ticketed for trying to impersonate a police officer....the nerve.

 

from what i have heard on a couple other forums is that they are only leagally allowed to give you trouble if you have lights, and actually try to be a cop. rather than just have a car that looks slightly like one. that said, i wouldnt even try.

 

Well given your making your car look like one from a now "blockbuster" $250mil + (U.S.&Foreign sales) movie I have a feeling they'll know what your trying to do.

Barricade looks sick in the movie! The police scheme looks awsome on that car!!
