some people have just too much money
a 05 mustang fr500c "barrett-jackson" edition sold for $187,000! i dont know how old this is, but i cant believe that. they said that you can order the same car from frpp for i believe 100,000. what makes this car so special?

According to this link (http://media.ford.com/newsroom/featu..._media_mustang), the list on the 500RC is $125,000.
With Barrett Jackson, I could imagine that part of what is happening is that some well-heeled individual decided he couldn't "lose" the auction, so he ran up his bid until the other bidders dropped out. In other words, "ego". It's also possible that the buyer on the 500RC might think that this car will appreciate rapidly because it's rare or desirable.
But $187,000 is a lot of cash - you could have quite a nice collection of highly-modded GT's for that price.

The first line says it all. I wish that was my problem.
