yea...when i had my 99 Stang, SC and Diablo tuner...if i had to take it in to the shop or valet, i would change the RPM to 2500

Anyone order the LiveWire...does it let you to also change those paramters?

2500 RPM limiter = not good

Ok, dropping the RPM limiter to 2500 as a valet tune is a BAD IDEA.

I just tried it tonight and it didn't go well. (side note, there are two RPM limiters in the SCT "optional parameters"; one for neutral and one for drive.. on a manual transmission the one for drive does nothing and the one for neutral controls). Anyway, under normal acceleration it is really really abrupt when it hits the 2500 rpm limiter. With the clutch still engaged the cut off sends a nasty shock through the trans with lots of chattering, then bucking b/c your foot is still on the gas. After trying to master this technique for the 3rd time, my check engine light came on and stayed on even after turning the car off then back on. After reloading a untouched bama 93R tune, everything went back to normal.

So in summary: If a valet tries to drive the car with a 2500 rpm limiter, it's likely he'll do a lot more damage than if it was just left as was.

well everytime i've done this. The car goes to 2500 then starts to blip up and down...same as if you've gone to 6300 rpm.

You could try raising hte limit to 3000 or 3500.

Yeah, that's a good point. I might give that a try. I guess the real goal is to keep the driver out of the 4000-6000 range.

A "real" valet tune would be pretty cool though.. like if bamachips/brenspeed/tillmanspeed slowed the gas pedal response way down so that if you floor it, it takes a really long time to actually get to WOT.. if at all. (like the exact opposite of what they do for 93R).
