I have been tracking my car on the rail system, and last week (a day after it shipped) the rail car came up Bad Order. I did some research and Bad Order means the rail car is in need of repair ( ). Kzinti said they would side rail it until the repairs are complete. (Just great) This weekend it updated from Bad Order to Bad Order Placement and the location moved as well but is still in the Kansas City, MO area. I cannot find any information on what that code means. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I want my car
I know this probably belongs in Order Status & Production Info, but I wanted to reach as many people as possible.

This means that a car inspector in the rail yard found some sort of defect on the freight car that is transporting your car. It is undoubtedly something minor, like a wheel or brake problem, or possibly a bent stirrup or grab iron. It was likely moved to the RIP (repair-in-place) track to be fixed, and will probably be rolling soon.

Thanks for the info.
I hope it starts rolling soon, has been sitting there a week as of tomorrow

Not 100 percent positive, but I just seen a Union Pacific 'auto raicar' while driving to San Diego over the weekend. Those railcars looked pretty nice. Completely covered, maybe can stack 3 cars high. So if that's what UP is using to transport vehicles, it looks to be well protected from the environment even if sitting for a week.

That is nice to know, I keep getting mental images of it showing up looking like a graffiti mural from downtown.

Hi there! Like SMH9502 said, that car should be back on the rails soon. Being a train conductor for the past 21 years, bad order placement means that the car has been put on a repair track and for minor repairs. Probably because somebody performed an inspection before departure and noticed somekind of problem with it. Since the car is loaded, it shouldn't take more than a day or 2 before they put it back on a train to get to its destination. Had this been a major problem, they would've unloaded the automobiles and put them on another car to avoid delays
As far as the rail cars go, most of them are closed cars to prevent from vandalism and they either have 2 or 3 levels containing as much as 6 cars per level depending on size.
So your baby should be pretty safe in there and don't worry, you'll be able to breathe the sweet smell of new pretty soon... Unless the train derails.......Just pulling your leg
Let us know when you get it.

I appreciate your info, makes the wait a little less stressful
And they had a train derail here about 1.5 weeks ago so don't think that hasn't crossed my mind.
