Not sure what to make of this, my car is stock (only rims and exhaust) cruise control was set at 80, I punch it, the trans drops two gears bounces off the rev limiter. I thought it was a fluke but happened again a little later, same scenario. I never bounced off the rev limiter when shifting my own gears in a manual and never expected an auto to do this. Yes it was in "D", I don't try to shift my auto like a manualmatic or anything, just push the go pedal.

This isn't normal is it? Haven't had much experiance with automatics, so forgive my ignorance.

I got a stick, but would sure think it wouldnt downshift 2 gears at that speed...suggest getting someone with a tuner to adjust shift points...if you got different tires, you might want to calibrate speedo at same time...

Tires are exact same overall diameter as stock, no calibration should be needed.

So cruise control allows the motor to rev beyond redline, hitting the limmiter? How odd.

It should have shifted. Yes, the Autos when in 5th gear drop down two gears when stomped to the floor, 5th gear is Overdrive. I wonder if Cruise does have something to do with it. I'm going to check it out next time I have my car out.
