Approx. Cost for work

Looking to get a CAI that requires a tune for my stock 06 GT. Also wanting headers put on and exhaust rerouted out of the side in front of the back wheel.

Will I be able to use the mufflers that are on it now? They are less than a year old set of flowmaster super 44s.

But just for cai tune and headers installed and exhaust rerouted what kinda price am I looking at? Location is southeast Alabama if that matters.

The CAI and tune you can do your Self. It is very easy and if you buy something like the Ford Racing or Steeda you can get the CAI and the Tune. It is very easy and you just need a few hand tools. Both Company's have fantastic support. What do you want to acomplish? The exhaust out the back in front of the Rear Tires is a tuff one. You probably could get that made at a local muffler shop. Look on line and see if some one makes that. The Stock mufflers will not work as they are right behind the rear bumper. The headers can be installed at the muffler shop. Should cost a few hours labor for the Headers and a couple of hours for the exhaust.

Was looking at the 704$ bama cai with tuner....I'm just trying to accomplish a nice DD/weekend show car. And trying to get some bolt on power. The exhaust out the side is for when I get the Eleanor body kit that I want. Eventually I would like to go turbo but I'm nowhere near mechanically inclined to jump to that level.

If your looking into mail order custom tunes ? I recommend either Brenspeed or JDM Engineering.. Both tuners are the very best in the business and have specialized in the S197 platform for over 10 years..

As for cold air intakes ? I would go with Airaid, as their intakes are backed by a no hassle lifetime warranty and have excellent fit and finish materials..

In addition, Airaid is also the manufacturer of the Roush cold air intakes for the 2005-15 Mustangs and even Steeda carries their intakes in stock as well..

You can also purchase an SCT tuner/Airaid combo package through Brenspeed or whichever Cold air intake you prefer..

Anyway here's the link for Brenspeed below..

Here are some prices of which we would charge:

CAI and tune is $90

The headers on a Coyote are:
- Long tube: $720
- Shorty: $630

You should be able to install the CAI & tune yourself ... here is a nice video that we did to show how it is done:

Here is how you would install the tune:

Here is our combo:

http://www.steeda.com/steeda-ultimat...ng-555-3920-b/

We have seen increased of up to 34 hp and 26 ft/lbs of torque to the rear wheels!* - See more at: http://www.steeda.com/steeda-ultimat....4CDewm3R.dpuf

Let me know if I can help assist with our unit or if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,

TJ

Rearend question

How soon should I look into changing the rear end and getting it built a lil tougher so I don't break anything on the occasional burn out when playing around. And would buying a while rear end be better or just getting the stock one beefed up?

For your particular application, you really don't need to change rear end gears unless your mainly using your car for track duty.. For street driving and occasional autocrossing, all you really need are a set of lowering springs, struts/shocks, LCA's, GT500 strut mounts and possibly sway bars, adjustable panhard bar and LCA relocation brackets.. Other than that, you'll be just fine with your stock gears..

Btw: even if you were to upgrade your rear end gears ? you would still need to do the other suspension mods that I listed, as your stock suspension components wouldn't be able to handle the additional stress anyhow..

I was looking on brenspeed and I saw they had suspension kits that drop 1" and comes with a lot. I was looking at the Roush one. Which is better Ford racing or Roush?

I most definitely recommend Brenspeed, as I've been one of their customers for nearly 10 years.. Ask for either Myles or Chase and tell them that Rocky referred you..

If you decide to go with Ford Racing or Roush ? Either way you won't be disappointed as Roush shares technology with Ford in it's technology transfer program and manufactures some of Ford's racing parts anyhow..

Also consider Eibach pro kit springs, as I've had them on my 2006 GT for over 9 years and have been very pleased with them.. They lower the front by 1.3 inches and 1.4 inches in the rear and they also carry a lifetime warranty as well..

I saw on a thread that anything over a inch drop you have to deal with camber plates? Or something like that if I buy the kit do I have to worry about that stuff. And will wheel scrub become a problem with the eibach that drop over that inch?

Actually if the drop is by 1.5 - 2.0 inches ? Then yes, it's recommended to upgrade to caster/camber plates, otherwise if you go with the Eibach pro kit springs ? all you need are camber bolts which are like $30.00 and my alignment is perfect with the camber bolts and within factory specs..

You can either purchase the camber bolts directly from Eibach as I did, or you can also purchase them through Brenspeed or American Muscle..

As for wheel scrub ? you won't have any issues, as I run 20x10 inch wheels in the rear and 20x8 inch wheels in the front.. My tire size is.. 285 ZR 30 20's front and 285 ZR 35 20's rear..
