Anyone seen a Live 05 Convertible?
Hey Everyone..
I don't mean this as a flame, but has anyone seen a live 2005 convertible?. Some of the pictures kinda make them look like a "New Edge Sebring Convertible".. I really hope they look better in person.
I'm kinda mixed on the new 2005's so far.. (Although the 99's took some time to 'grow on me', and now I really like the 'new edge' or 'creased' style of mustang). Although I really like the 'back to the future' look of the 2005 Saleen.
(I am glad the interior and quality is way up though in the 2005

I thought the same thing when I saw the top down photos....Car looks killer with the top up though....I'm sure it'll only be better in person....The 'vert owners will be pleased in the end I'm sure....

It's Just like the 05 fastback's The Pic's Did not do them Justice! In person Way Better! The Vert REALLY Reminds me of A 69 coupe Roof line! Isn't in Funny now that we have seen the 05 fstback in Person that the Pics LOOK BETTER! It's because now our minds fill in the blanks! I know ford calls them Coupes but it's a Fastback to me! Ragtops are for a Different Kind of enjoyment! I know I own Three! 71 ltd vert 73 cougar vert 69 fury vert! Fun but different! Yes I like Mopars too!

Not certain about that 69 coupe roofline comment. If they could have someone given it a bit of curve near the rear windows, and a more vertical rear window I'd agree. As it is, in the photos at least, it simply looks like your run-of-the-mill convertible top.
ive seen a couple live 05 verts one yellow with black top v6 that imo didnt look good at all, and another winvail blue with a tan top gt that looked great so ya
im gettin a black on black vert and i thnk they are gonna be sweet

The "Kickup" on the early cars (65-70) cars really spoiled me in the looks dept. It will take some effort for the new car look to "Grow " on me. That said, I think they did an go
od job with the body lines they had to work with. It will still be a big hit with those who want a vert IMHO.

We did see five convertibles at the launch celebration, and Amy saw more driving around later. I think they look good with the top up, but fantastic with the top down.
I saw one in Tampa the other day, going the opposite direction at Interstate speeds, but it did look good with the top up. Torch red w/tan top. I couldn't make out whether it had the 18" wheels on it though.
From a pure styling point of view coupes always look better than verts, and the 05 Stang is no exception to that, at least not for me. Nevertheless I will always get the vert. The rear spoiler has to go though, it looks totally hideous on it, especially with the top down...
Strange, for me, the spoiler is what makes the convertible's back end look much better. Without it, the car just seems empty back there (quick and dirty chop):

Come to think of it, a ducktail would look even better on the back.

Personally.. I don't care much for them.

I was in West Branch, MI Tues. night when I saw 4 verts together at the Taco Bell. I bet they must of had a fun time driving in the snow. 3 GT's and 1 V6. Didn't look too bad. The V6 was Legend Lime with tan top and what looked like partchment leather interior. The one GT was black w/ black top and red leather, and the other two were mineral grey with tan and black tops and partchment leather interior. I liked the looks of the bullit type wheels on the cars, really sharp. Also, after seeing the red leather in person, I don't know if that is something I'd get. It might get too much after awhile.
