anyone having this problem with thier Powered by Ford cover

i popped the hood the other day to check on the pony because of the heat making them come loose(which mine seems to be lifting now) and i notice a little discoloration on the top of the cover. then i noticed the hood insulation looked like it had some of the paint on it. so i think the paint is rubbing on the insulation while the hood is shut. does anyone know of a fix or prevention of this?

Several people have suggested using a shop towel or washcloth to cover it until a better fix is developed. The cloth stays put because the insulation pushes it against the cover. I'm going to be putting it on mine tomorrow, we'll see how it works.

Some have used some sort of RTV to adhere the hood liner up at the rear where it is sagging, This prevents the rub. I took a different route as I have a Roush hood scoop I drilled yet another hole right in the center of the Liner and hood and bought some more of those black plastic push in retainers like the factory ones and pushed it in the hole. Can't tell it isn't one of the factory ones.

You could take the liner off all together too, that should work nicely. Just hope the hood's painted all the way across the inside.

Lowering Your Cover by Removing Rear Studs and Bolting Through the Rear Brackets vs Sittting on Top may help. I have been told Some Engines Sit Higher than others due to Production Variences BTW.

I removed the hood liner and have an STB, so no problems here.

This sounds like a troublesome mod on the order of shifters. I think I'll pass. I don't do shows anyway.

I did lower my intake cover as suggested, still haven't taken off the washcloth as of yet though. Seems the hood liner sags a bit in that area. I'm gonna get some carpet tape & see if that will stick to the liner next.Regular double-sided tape didn't work.
