I'll toss this out there, though I got flamed for it on another forum. I get up early on Saturday and was it between dawn and when the sun actually comes up. You get about a 30-45 minute window there. I live in Florida, so it might not be Texas, but it's still pretty hot here.
Now, to all who would think me a freak, I do this because I have a 13 month old son, and he wakes me up the same time every day regardless. So, since I'm up so early on Saturday, and it's not a workday, I take care of the cars. Mine first, then my wife's SUV since it's silver and water spots are much less noticeable (and she cares much less than I do, as long as it's clean...)
So, just one idea, though it may seem a bit extreme. Sunrise and dawn are not the same thng, and you have about 45 minutes of sufficient light between the two.
