A buddy of mine tried to get a 2005 GT vert on A at his local dealer, but they pulled the old "Ford aint doing Plans on the 05 GT's..." line.
He was prepared to go in for MSRP, but they were sticking to their guns with the $8K markup. Is this pretty much what's going on right now? The dealership I bought my coupe at MSRP finally got a few GT's in about a month ago, but I think they must've joined the "Dealer Markup" gang, as they've had the same batch on the lot for a few weeks now.
Anyone else noticing more GT's on lots, which don't appear to be moving like you'd expect (ie. barely hit the lot and they're gone)? I'd rather sell 10 @ MSRP, than have one gather dust for a week or so because I won't drop the markup.
Anyone know of a good Mesa AZ dealer who'll do a fair deal?

Would gladly do a GT or GT vert at MSRP if i had one. Our next allocation scheduling is tomorrow, wee'll see what gets pulled. We have a few in the order bank.

My older sister got her Gt Vert at MSRP at a dealership in Abilene TX, can't remember the name. There are a few dealers out there selling them for MSRP just keep looking and rubbing those rabbit feet.

Got my GT Vert 2 weeks ago. The one I ordered was not going to make '05 delivery, so I started searching by one. I found mine 35 miles from my home. The dealer wanted $1000 over, but I refused to budge. He finally relented and sold to me at MSRP. I am very lucky & have been doing nothing after work but cruisin' in the new vert.

Low allocation, or selling like hot-cakes?

No problem with allocation but it is mostly taken up by retail orders so we can't seem to get another GT or GT vert vert scheduled for stock.
Things look better towards the end of the model year as we are just about caught up with sold orders so unless we get a few more sold orders, we might be able to squeak another GT or so for stock.

Crappola thing is, this guy is considering not bothering getting a new car at all, or going for another make/model. I knew these stoops dealer schenanigans had to be costing Ford customers.
If they don't wise-up, I predict 05 GT sales will greatly exceed Ford's target, but still fall woefully short of what coulda been.

All the Mustang GT's I have sold this year, with one being a GT Vert, have been at MSRP. My dealership won't stoop to the level of the other dealers who try the mark-up game. All that does is create tension and hostility, and will ultimately come back and bite the dealer in the end. This is why we have so many orders as we are one of the very few who are staying at MSRP only.

Agreed. I actually sold our 1st GT [ordered for an acquaintance for invoice]. Sold 2 more for $700 over invoice [again orders], and a GT Vert for $1200 over invoice [another order]. One of these has already ordered an '06 Super Duty which came in today. It pays toi take care of customers. Got my GT Vert for "D" plan

Well, it's a shame there aren't more of you guys around. My buddy was all for buying the car, sensible numbers permitting, but walked cos he knew that the sales guy was bs'ing him (on the 'A' Plan) and just didn't feel like he could trust him. :bang:

If it was new it would have to be Arrow Ford (it's not a big town).

Ford is not restricting A plan orders as far as I know, I picked up my GT vert in Refire metalic about 6 weeks ago on a Z plan order throgh my brother. Z plan is the same price structure as A plan but is for Ford retires rather than active employees...... However, it is up to the dealer weather they will accept any plan or not.
