I made my first new car purchase last November when I got a '04 V6. Now of course I knew that the '05 was coming, but the situation at the time dictated I had to make the deal. Question is if I wanted to try to trade in the '04 for an '05 GT how much of a hassle am I really looking at? Will it be so much cash I shouldn't even bother? Thanks in advance, and excuse the newbishness of my question.

Go to http://www.edmunds.com a punch in the info for your stang. The average trade-in value is what you could expect.

You have gotta watch out for the "new" price of the stang falling like a stone as Job 1 day approaches. Chances are that the 04 price will go through the floor. That directly affect reselling price.

Mustang's drop in value like a rock. Just try and sell it outright yourself.

You're going to take a HUGE depreciation hit if you sell or trade in a one year old car. Of course, it's your money, but I wouldn't do it.

I agree. Values have already dropped with anticipation of the 05. Enjoy the 04 a little and see what the next year might bring. This also lets you save a little cash for a down payment.

When you do sell, if possible, try to sell it on your own. Usually you can get more money.
