Another hurt pony..
Well only after a week of having the stang it happened. I completely messed up the bottom of my front bumper. I was pulling out of my parking spot yesterday morning trying to take my little brother to football camp and heard a loud screeching sound comeing from the front. I go outside and look and see the plastic bottom grill completely off and the bottom of my bumper scraped to shreds. First thought was maybe the cement block did this.. NOPE. Their is more then enough room for my front bumper to clear it. The problem was that the rebar that holds in the cement blocks was sticking up about 2-3" out of the hole. It cought on the bumper and ripped it to shreds.
I called my townhome association and they said they maybe able to cover the damages. I got an estimate this morning.. $1003.40 to replace the bumper. Im emailing them the estimate and the pics right now.

WHAT!! That's BS. Replacing the bumper on these cars is something anybody can do at home. I've replaced a couple. Go grab a takeoff from somewhere in your color and you'll be good as new for about $300.

That's one of the reasons I always back into spaces. Actually, now I HAVE to back in since my splitter is about 3" off the ground. +1 you can fix it yourself. You can change the cover in less than an hour. Even if you have it done, definitely investigate getting a take-off in your color. You'll save a ton in paint labor and you'll have superior factory paint.

Heres how the labor goes..
Body Labor: 2.8Hours @ $48.00/HR
Paint Labor: 4.4Hours @ $48.00/HR
Paint Supplies: 4.4Hours @ $28.00/HR
$469.20 for labor... I really dont trust doing it myself I would rather have professionals do it and do a great job then have me do it and do an aweful one. Plus, if all goes well, my townhome association will pay for it all.

Chris, where are you located at? I drive a Vista Blue Mustang, 6 months old. If close enough, we could swap bumpers for half that and I could get the Roush bumper I have always wanted. Just a thought. Mustang GT Front Bumper Cover FR3-4200-05AAG9.

I feel your pain. I destroyed 2 front facias on my 87 GT via those stupid parking blocks. Totally ripped the lower spoiler off the things. After the 2nd one I converted it to an LX without that low front end.

Whoever's property that curb is on is responsible for the damages. Those rebar pieces are not supposed to stick up above the cement block. They can take a hammer and beat them back down into the asphalt and should have already done that. Get an estimate, take the check and install a take-off part. I am mechanically challenged but I think I could change a fasica.
