Your S197: Modded or not?
For the most part the point of a forum is to talk about mods so I'm sure there won't be to many that have a stock car unless they just got it from the dealer. 10-20 years down the road your best bet of finding a stock S197 will probably be a V6 IMO.
Modded, but only slightly. There should be more choices in the poll.
1. Stock
2. Slightly modded (few small cosmetic or performance mods)
3. Heavily modded (major/many cosmetic or major/many performance mods)
4. That thing is a Mustang??

The point was to keep it clear and simple.
Everything on my car is OEM, but it has different wheels than what it came with. I got fanblades for it.
Moot point anyway though since my JLT/X2 came in today and I'm gonna put em on in the morning.
Mustangs are for modding. That's half the fun!

Make sure to actually vote. if you don't it'll throw off the results.
The whole fun of owning a Mustang is the modding and personalization. It's been done for almost 45 years and it will definitely go on.
On the other hand, 30 years from now the stock ones will probably sell better.

I'd wager the majority of stock Mustang vehicles undergo the same general sort of "thrashing". But I guess I understand the psychological approach you're describing. I would suspect some mod squad members treat their cars better than the average joe though. Someday I hope to be wandering through the lot and find TacoBill's car sitting there! Still, hard to figure that out by looking at an ad in the paper or the car on a lot.
I agree. Using non-standard engine oil would count as a mod. Using gasoline that was different from what the factory uses would also count as a mod.
IMHO, a mod should be considered something that replaces an original factory part but is NOT a wear/tear item. For example, non-Motorcraft oil filters and drive belts should not be considered mods. New spark plugs should not be considered a mod unless it is a different heat range. New tires aren't necessarily a mod.
An accessory would be something that is installed in the vehicle to provide an additional feature that does not enhance the performance or function of the vehicle: floor mats, steering wheel cover, headlamp lens film, seat covers, fuzzy dice, ventshades, P90 locking gunrack, etc...
Modifications would include Saleen HIDs, axle-back mufflers, CAI kit, GT500 brakes in a GT, 11 psi Whipplecharger kit, NOS, Long-tube headers, etc...

The GT500 has custom glass tint and a windshield banner.
Both have a ton of Zaino on them and custom cf accessories.
Other than that, they are primarily Stock.
