Don't laugh...

I got a greyhound for my birthday, and when I was bringing him home, one of those construction trucks decided to stop out of nowhere, I slammed the brakes to avoid hitting them, and the new dogs head hit my windshield.

The spiderweb it left is human head big.

My insurance company replaces windshields for free, but do they give you the MUSTANG one?

So I want to know if the car dealer replaces windshield glass through my insurance company, I know they have pony windshields.

Darn Woman . . .

Poor Dog . . . . . . Is the Dog OK?

I had a rock chip my windshield the first week I had the Mach (maybe second week) I checked with some local glass companies and they did carry the OEM correct windshields. I would say just call around and ask.

Not woman!
The whole town I live in is under construction. Stupid dumptrucks, wanted my development, stopped short at the one under construction before mine.

The dog is fine. I think he won't be riding in Eleanor again. I had no choice yesterday, He had to get from the dogtrack to my house.

Really......

One becomes the same after the first ten thousand you encounter. Dumptruck, lumber truck, bobcat hauler, delivery truck.....
They are building 8,000 some houses over here. Its beginning to get aggravating. YES I knew I was moving into a construction zone when I bought this house so don't start :nono:

Why couldn't it have been the neighbors new Z6? Or the other neighbors new 06 vert? :bang: Eleanor is having a true run of crappy luck.
In the end my freaking windshield is still broke. I just want my pony when its replaced.

Probably because the neighbours drive slower and watch out for those nasty trucks Perhaps the car is having a true run of bad luck due to the owner

Sorry about your car and the poor doggie. I do believe, and I am sure someone will correct me on this if I am wrong, that it is a law that insurance companies cannot dictate where your car is repaired. They also cannot tell you what brand of replacement parts you have to use. Just get some quotes from a couple windshield places reflecting the cost of the OEM "Pony" windshield.
Oh, and what a great birthday gift you got! Retired racing dogs deserve a good home too. Congrats!

All set up- WITH correct new windshield.

Safelite is doing it. And Being as this happens more often than I like, I know they do okay.

Adrenalin, I think you just like to mess with me.

The other drivers are careful sure, but they drive schoolbuses. Only 4 of us in this neighborhood are cool- and one is a Corvette

I won't mess with you April, I'll leave that to the trusty mods

But did you get your dog checked out? I don't know how much force it takes to break the windshield (probably not much considering it chips so easily from what I've read.) Or how hard the dogs skull is

But could it possible cause any internal injuries?

All I have are cats, and I'm not sure they'd even leave my leather/vinyl seats, I'd probably have nice deep holes from the claws though.

The horse of a dog is fine as Frogs hair. Assuredly.
The kicker, was he barely hit it. My arm absorbed the force- which is nice and sore today.
HUGE dog, Tiny Car, Sudden stop.... Calamity. He is longer than the backseat, and this was his first car ride- and first time out of a kennel except for vet visits. Since he couldn't fit there, he had his head on the console. He was JUST adjusting around when I stoppe. :bang:

See? All these lovely construction trucks..

Good thing the air bag didn't go off, or you'd be looking for a replacement dog too. Animals should be in the back seat.

 Allrighty then. I don't think Marmaduke could fit up front even if he wanted to.

I just wanna know who I ticked off..First the puke, then the spinner and now the windshield. Poor Eleanor.

Good thing bad things come in threes- that was #3.

April,

I am sorry, you should have had the dog strapped in. there are several types of harness to stop this type of thing happening. Just be glad the dog didn't hit you, you would have known about it then! Just out of interest, would you let your daughter travel in the car without her belt on?

No No and No..Never. They don't leave the garage without seatbelts.

I was bringing him home from the track and wasn't thinking about his massive size and what could happen. I learned huh?
When I had my other grey he was always strapped in just because of something like this.
