Interesting indeed... you are right every set up is going to be a little different.
I have the same size MT drag radials which are 26" dia. too. Did you tighten up your shifts in your tune?
My finger is poised on the OD button, as soon as my front end hits the timer I pop it into OD, the car sounds "relieved" when 5 engages. I have no idea what RPM I am turning because the Ford tach is in a crummy location. I just installed an aftermarket tach on my dash that I can see, so I am going to monitor my shift points and RPM at the far end. I go to the track June 26, so I will see then.

It's very helpful to have video of your 1/4 mile runs. Like you, I can't see the tach easily during runs. Watching earlier runs when I was locking out overdrive it was obvious that the car would hit a wall at 109 mph and stop accelerating when 4th gear would hit redline. Letting it shift into overdrive allows me to get to 112-113 mph by the finish line. Granted, if your car or the OP's car don't trap as high as my car you won't necessarily need to let it shift into overdrive. But, video is very helpful to see what is happening.

Transmission line pressure is increased in my tune, as well as quicker torque converter lock up (1/2 second after upshift at WOT). The factory only locks up the converter in 4th & 5th gears, but mine also locks up in 3rd gear now. These all help my car pull harder at the tall end of the dragstrip.

I just installed a set of relocation brackets, and a 3K torque converter but haven't track tested them yet. So between the two mods and a now visible tach I expect to do better next time at the track.

I always had issues getting a good clean launch on street tires. I now have Nitto drag radials and the only issue so far has been a cold track or poor track prep causing me to get loose into second gear. I'm going this Saturday and the weather looks better, so hopefully I will be able to do better this time around.
Don't feel bad about your reaction time, the Viper driver was either asleep at the wheel, or he let you have a head start.

So I hoped the weather held off today cause there was a 30% chance of storms...and it did...
Hot (90degrees)and humid(60%), def not a race day, but somehow I got down to 13.7 which is making me think my launching got a little better.

With the mods in my signature block, I was doing consistent 13.3s / 104 mph last month with a few dips into the 13.2s. My best ever was 13.21 and a 105 mph (not the same run) without the rear suspension control arm stuff or the long tubes. And I am running on the stock tires and usually leave OD on.
I launch at about 1800 rpm and just floor it. More then that and I don't get traction.

Second Track Visit
Man, I am really going to have to learn how to drive. I went to the local 1/8 mile strip for the second time and the best time I have so far is 9.45. I see most people with the types of modifications that I have are in the high 8 second range. I ran against another 05 to 09 stang and he blew my doors, hood, and trunk lid off. He ran 8.8XX seconds. I had a blast both time I went to the track and I am looking forward to doing it again soon. I have a 5 speed manual with 3.55 gears. Performance mods in my signature.
