I used to have a k&n air filter for my stock air box but I bought a cai awhile back and I know it needs cleaning. Its a c&l from american muscle. Is it a bad idea to use the rechare kit from my old filter? Help please

 

I have used the K&N recharge kit to clean mine from day one. I couldn't see reason why I couldn't.

I have a cleaning kit from when I was on the Dark Side with my Corvette. It is for a Blackwing air filter (similar to the K&N). I now have a Granetilli air filter (similar to the K&N). Would it be OK to use it to clean my filter? The reason I ask is that I was told not to use the K&N Cleaner on the Blackwing. It could have been a bunch of hype but I don't know.

 

I'm pretty sure the K&N cleaning kit will be fine . . . also pretty sure the filters are all made by K&N

 

Get one of these kits and follow the instructions. Easy to do, and should be done often, especially on the open air filters. (Mine's getting dirty too...)
