43, Received my Satin Silver 05 GT for New Years, it's my third. My first was a 66 Fastback (pictured), second was a 67. Been saving my money for a Shelby (more likely a Shelby clone) till the 05 was announced several years ago. Now I've get the best of both worlds, old and new.

Im 20! Got my first mustang @ 16 . . . a 2002 gt
Now how did you afford a 2002 GT at 16 years old and the insurance.....

I know some people will take this the wrong way but I remember when I was 16 years old....there was no way I could afford a new car. I was in school and working but even if I saved every penny I still could not make enough to buy a new car.

Also I notice a lot of people saying "I got a new car when I was ... years old" and then mention that really their parents bought them the car or it was their parents car. Guess I am just jealous

My first car was a 77 Mustang II (I know, don't say it...) that my dad bought for me for $1,000.00 and I was to pay for insurance and any maintenance costs, which added up to be a lot. One of my relatives works for Chrysler (high up in management) and bought a new Jeep Renegade that he lets his son use. His son, one night at their house, said to a bunch of his friends...."Check out my new car" to which his dad then said in front of all his friends "I suggest you stop telling people that is your car. Until you pay for it in full it is not yours and should be treated as such".

I just love how a lot of people say "this is mine". Sure it is, show me the ownership and insurance papers

Kids sure do expect a lot these days I guess.

I knew there was some reason for being glad that I'm A Grampa - those expensive gifts are now someone else's problem.

As for my age, I received medicare A for my last birthday. As for Mustangs, I will soon (real soon, I hope) take delivery of my second Satin Silver GT Premium Convertible; the first being an '02.

And to show that an old dog can learn new tricks, the '02 was my first Mustang after years of GM stuff.

OK, ...so I'm a slow learner.

And I tend to agree with many comments stated earlier regarding us AARP candidates; ...although I can't stop growing old - I can stop growing up.

AND I LOVE IT !!!!!

My 66' was handed down from Dad, but I too had to pay every cent for maintenance and insurance. Insurance for me as the only driver of that car 23 years ago was 1,200 per 6 months, which for then was unheard of. I worked more than I went to school, and in the end had to sell the car before I went into the Navy anyway.....well that and I had racked up so many tickets if I didn't ship out, my license would have been revoked anyway

It was fun for those 2 years though!

33 and MY first Mustang.

I'm glad I waited until now. I always dreamed of owning a classic car that was also as reliable and safe as a new car, now I do!

I'm not in my seventies, but if I were, I think I might be a little offended by how this poll is worded.

Age has nothing to do with enjoying a car, as long as you are an aware driver. I too get frustrated sometimes at older drivers, but then, I get frustrated with many drivers

This GT will be my first Mustang, and like Jack Benny, I am 39....

How old? Old enough to know what I want, yet young enough to still enjoy it when I get it!

I am 55 and got tired of trying to keep up the maintenance on the old cars. Sold a 1970 Cuda convert and bought the mustang. Had the Cuda 8 years and still needed more work than I wanted to put in it. It was a nice looking driver but rode rough, no air, lousy radio, your clothes would smell like exhaust just trying to get the car out of the garage. Parts extremely hard to get. ect.

Jungleman, The beauty of the 05 is that you get the best of the old school style with the best of new techology and design.

Technically not an owner yet but I will be as soon as Ford decides to build mine. I'm 39 and this will be the 2nd Mustang for me. My first was a 91 GT when I was 25. There have been 2 others in the family as well, a 90 4cyl notchback and a 67 coupe with a 289.

29. My first Mustang. Previous vehicle was a '95 Ford Aspire that I bought new (yes, my daily driver for almost 10 yrs!). So, you probably have an idea of how happy I am to finally have something with a little power and prestige. V6 now for sure, gives me time to save for 2009 Cobra. Need to learn "RWD in the snow" first
