aftermarket/high flow cowl vent screens?
I've always been wondering why there aren't any after market cowl vent screens for the S197 Mustangs, as any free flowing vent would help with the hood flutter issues, reduce under hood pressure and temperatures.
i'm even contemplating the thought of cutting open my cowl vent, only if i can make it look right from the outside.

as you can see by the stock design, the vent is open from the side facing the engine compartment to allow for air to go into where the cabin air filter is.. but the back side facing the windsheild is closed and doesn't allow any air to flow out.
i don't wanna replace my Shelby hood with Steeda cowl hood just as yet..
i'm just wondering if a direct vent replacement is available somewhere, or if anyone has experimented with this on their own.

I have stock GT Appearance pkg scoop that I took out and modified it to make it open... and made about 5x10" hole under it...
Before that, my Trans temps were easily around 210F and now I rarely see anything over 180F and it's 90-100F out now vs. 50-70F few months back. There's some pics of my project on MF

I have been looking for same thing for a year.
If you take off your hood blanket you can see a few areas between the ribs on the underside of the hood that would make a good place for vents without weaking the hood.
