Actually backwards at Santa Barbara, the county is very expensive to live in and the further you get from the school the more expensive it is, plus it is kind of remote and distant from the rest of Santa Barbara (its on a penisula- probably so the students dont bother the rich) and if he is selling his car than he would have a real difficult time getting to school, if your not on campus the next best bet is a rundown, dingy (compared to the rest of SB) part of town overrun with frats who party 24/7 in a town known as IV and that is expensive.

 

I think selling your car is going to be pretty tough if you aren't willing to lose A LOT. I have had mine listed for almost a month. Mine has all options and MSRP was $29800. It has been listed for $25000 and I have not had even a sniff of interest yet.

 

Have you thought of living in the car????? Sure saves the rent money!!

With the mentioning of GI Bill, are you still in the reserves?

If so, see if UCSB has an R.O.T.C. program that you may be able to assist w/ reviews, labs, evals., etc....
If your are commisioned, you may be able to qualify for Cadre pay... enlisted have to be AGR I believe -Worth a shot

Not sure if that program is still available... pulling from memory sirca '95-'00
