I read somewhere that the 2007 and up Mustangs had additional bracing or something to accommodate the GT500 engine.

Is this correct, and does anyone know exactly what was done or have a tech article on it?

Yes it is. I'm not sure exactly what they did though. The only visible bracing is on the coupe's, where there is now an A-arm brace that was a convertible only piece pre-07.

 

Is this something that can be added to an '06?

 

Yup, but I recommend the CHE A-arm brace. It's a much beefier piece and attaches at two points instead of just one like the OEM piece.

Just look up A-arm brace and CHE or any manufacturer you'd prefer.

This was not installed on all 07 coupes. My 07 has the "ears" for the brace but not the brace.
