See you when you get back on your feet on the 'minvan source' forums.

Now, as far as a raffle... that's not a bad idea. $30k wouldn't be a profit though, that's for sure. I have well over $35k into this car. I can hardly say I'm a charity... but if TMS wants to set up a raffle for my car, I'd be more than happy to think about it.

Oooooh, somebody just rid of the drivel.....Good Job
Ian, sorry to hear it man, that sucks.
If you need any help with webspace for a page about the car where you can consolidate everything, let me know. I had set up something similar for Donna when she was trying to sell her V6 before her GT came in.
It was at (actually it still is) http://2005stang.com/forsale/
Good luck in getting anything you can for it. I'm sure you know in the back of your mind how tough it is to find the right buyer for an already modified car.

Tony, thanks for the offer... I might just take you up on that. That's a nice little page you got there. And yes, I know it won't be easy to find the right buyer for this car. That's what worries me.

do you still have the stock parts, if so start by putting it back to stock and parting it out (the mods), you will make more money that way, otherwise you will be losing money, real sorry to hear this, hopefully you will bounce back soon and be back in the saddle again so to speak. Being an architech they should be needing you in the near future to help rebuild. I hope evrything works out for you.

Sorry to see you have to sell the car, but you should still stay an active member, since you're hopefully going to purchase and build a better one in the future.
Aside from the loss of the Mustang, life has blessed you in many ways that money can't buy.
I also think trying to sell the car out of state would be a good idea. You might try CARMAX, if you don't want to sell it to an individual. They might offer you a competitive bid for your car, since GT Mustangs are still selling for a premium price in many areas of the country.
Good luck!

I am sad to hear about your car and the hard times you are going through. I wish you the best of luck... hopefully you will bounce back as I am sure there will be a construction boom in the Gulf Coast area while they rebuild...

Good ideas. As far as stock parts... when I place my ad on-line I may advertise it without the exhaust and CAI, and then put back on the stock exhaust and airbox. But most of the mods I've done can't really be put back. The painted stripes, spoilers, functioning hood scoop, etc. You are right about taking parts off, and I will probably take off as much as I can and sell those parts seperately. Still, if someone wants the car as is, I'd be more than happy to sell it with all parts for the right price.
I'm still going to stay a member... but obviously won't have a Mustang for a while and won't be getting on here too often.

Ian,
What are you looking to get for the car? Even if it's not a concrete #, just so I have something when mentioning the car and spreading the word..
Again, I'm really sorry to hear what you and your wife have been going through. I've always followed what you've done with your car.. one MG owner to another.. and think you've done a great job! Hang in there and hopefully we can spread the word and find her a good home.

Ian, your car was is one of my favorite TMS mustangs. Sorry to hear about your situation.
Don't be a stranger around here. About 8500 TMS members (including myself) don't own S-197 mustangs so you won't be alone on the boards.

Ian, I am very sorry to hear of your situation and the fact you need to sell your car. Like Mike said, you have a new baby and a wife who absolutely take priority.
I wish you and your family the very best of luck. I hope to see you around even just to say hi and let us know how things are going.
I'm sure you'll buy another one down the line and it'll be even better than this one
Stay positive and best wishes,
Danny

Ian,
I think Ebay will be your best bet. You've done a great job with her, and a beautiful car like yours will certainly sell. Good luck with the baby and new home. Please don't be a stranger around here!

Ian, kudos to you for putting your family ahead of your car. That says a lot about you, especially after the time you've invested into that car.
Good luck to you. People who survive situations like this come back stronger - I see a Shelby in your future.
As for the car - I recently sold my boat on Ebay. It was sold in a week after being listed with a yacht broker for months.
Wishing you the best.
John

Good lluck with everything Ian. You will truely be missed. All things happen for a reason, and I'm sure your wife won't let this responsible act of kindness go without being noticed.
Best to you and yours from everyone at TMS!
