I stopped at my dealer today after seeing he had 3 V6s on his lot (I was told my GT would be the first 06 they get) After he calmed me down I was told the 18 inch Fan Blade wheels on my order was the reason the factory did not pull my order. They told me they were surprised mine was not "BUCKED" last week. They also told me they had a heated talk with the zone rep. and told him my car should have been built instead of the V6s they got.

Anybody else hear anything like this I'm not sure if they are lying to me.

Dealer told me earlier this month there is only 12% build rate with 64E option. Mine just got locked in for 8/29 production (64E, coupe, & manual) though.

Those stories from your dealer are BS in my opinion. As I posted earlier regarding my tour of the plant, I just picked up mine tonight. It had the 64E wheels and is a manual trans. It was supposed to be delivered in around the 2nd week of Sept, and was delivered 8/19. The gentleman I met at the assembly plant said they are running 2 weeks ahead on Mustangs right now since they are not making any Mazda's right now.

I agree...BS! My car has ALL the supposed "material hold" options (GT, manual, 64E, spoiler delete), and is now LOCKED for production on 8/31 after being ordered and serialized in 1 day. If I were you, something would smell fishy to me.

There is truth to materials delay, it's posted at the Blue Oval site. The quote is posted in previous threads. It does not mean they are out of material but there is concern that materials including the Manual Tranny, 64E's, and 64W's. That being said I just got locked in from production too with the 18' fanblades.

ISELLFORD mentioned in an earlier post that dealerships have 19% allocation for the 64E wheels. This could slow some orders down, but I'm surprised to hear that it's slowing them down already after only two weeks of production! Can't wait to see the first cars from forum members with the 64W wheels this fall!!!

Not trying to stir things up, but we all know you can't believe "everything" you read on BON. That became clearly evident last year.

Al, my dealer told me I actually jumped ahead of the guy in front of me because he had the 18' wheel option and I had the standard 17's. I just got pulled so he's probably telling you the truth. I was worried a little bit because I heard there was going to be a commodity issue with the anti-theft system but it turned out ok.

My dealer told me that I might have to wait because of the 64E wheels. I don't know if I believe him, there seem to be a lot of people getting their Stangs with fanblades.
