Styling

Dislikes
1. The "CB" antenna (Hey Ford, when your own advertising people removed it for photo shoots, that was a clue to redesign)
2. The stock ride height (With a gap that big, I can slap on some off-road tires and go mudding...lol)
3. Clutch feel and Clunky transmission

Minor Annoyances
1. Arm postition when shifting with a drink in cup holder.
2. Ugly engine bay
3. Cleaning the front grille

"Gee Whiz" Surprises
1. The fuel gauge turns red when low regardless of color selected

What is the clunkiness in the trans? I've read that people really like it. Is it something that can be resolved with a shifter upgrade? I want a car that can respond quickly and smoothly.

heat on my feet
What does that mean? Does it leak air through the lower vents when switched to dash only?

I guess I'll have to test drive one to find out some of these things. Need to make a checklist for potential buyers to go through to see if they can live with the annoyances. Definately a productive way to test out a car. Go through all the known designed in "problems" and see if they are too bothersome. A lot better than driving off and forgetting to check stuff because you've got to 60 in 5 seconds.

when you set the heat for the floor it seem like 20% go to the floor and 80% goes to defrost

Dislikes for the price paid-none. Maybe I have driven too many other cars....

My car has been flawless with nothing ill fitting, not one thing not working properly, or any noises, nothing.

I guess if I had to say something the Pirelli tires on the 17" rims are garbage.

I guess because when you set floor heat in 90% of the cars I have driven(with a floor-only vent) if its humid, the windshield immediately fogs severely.

Another good thing you should do is test-drive 10-15000 other vehicles and you will find annoyances in every one of them(especially when its your job to find things wrong with them)...

It really depends upon the car and what sorts of things irk you, I suppose. I've driven plenty of cars, and each one has its own quirks and personality. Well, except for Lexus, that is - the personality is pretty much engineered out of the car at the factory. Zzzzzzzzz. Great interiors, though, I'll give them that.

I think the Stang is intentionally design to offer a little more of the old school, muscle car mechanical "feel," and if that's not your thing, you probably won't like it.

Oh, another Mustang thing I dislike-the rear defroster takes 9 years to melt ice on the glass, and of course the antenna mast.

heh, I was going to say the plain, clean cut razor sharp aluminum hood at first...The rear honeycomb panel is 10 times worse then the grille to get dry unless you use compressed air.

Unlike the old rippled, misfitting plastic hoods/trunks of the old cars that also chipped easilly and faded independently of the metal panels.

Yeah. In the limited time that you have with a car during a test drive if you know the problem areas ahead of time, you can decide if it is something you can't live with. Better that than getting infatuated with some good point and figuring our later that you can't stand something.

I do most of the trade evaluations or re-evaluate cars that feel 'iffy' to a manager, and revisit all of them before putting them in the shop/wholesaling/or ebay status, so you get to see a lot of stuff. I will drive an 05 BMW M3, a 96 Camry, an old International Harvester landscape body dump truck, and a PT cruiser with 3 repaired accidents on an average Monday morning by 10am...

Sounds like a cool job. Do you have a course or do you take them out on certain roadways?

Sort of like dating.
Yeah. Pretty much. And signing the papers and cutting the check is like marriage. And if you decide to sale early you end up getting taken to the cleaners.

Fun thread, here are mine:

Pros:
This car has one of the best looking dashboards out there, especially with the charcoal option which I am partial too.

Retro styling with modern quality and features.

Availabilty of aftermarket parts to truly make it yours

Cons:
Map pockets in the doors are almost useless. (I'm surprised no one else mentioned this one)

Keys on the knees

Almost always have trouble putting gas in the car. Have to flip nozzle upside down! Mine is an 06 and this was improved????

Cars sure doesn't feel as fast as it is!

I agree there should always be some heat hitting the windshield but in this car its too much heat up there. I don't see it as a big problem. I think if we put some sort of deflector on the end of the floor vent to get it to point downward more it would be better. The floor vent shoots straight out .... just needs a little turn down on the end of it.

Solution for Ford to fix the key hitting our knee/leg problem:
MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL!
If the steering wheel was closer to the driver, you wouldn't have to pull the seat up so far and your legs wouldn't be bent as much so your knees wouldn't be as high as they are now.

Sure, if you could telescope the steering wheel...which you can't.
