23.7 mpg road trip in 2007 Mustang Gt Vert
My wife's 07 GT convertible/auto usually gets around 22-23 on trips. Best I've gotten is 26 with the top up and no ac. She says that it gets much better mileage with the top up than with the top down. To her credit, the top is down unless the weather is INCREDIBLY crappy.
I've gotten 30.5 MPG according to the car computer. That was on the Freeway at about 68 MPH during the spring when it was cooler, and with no AC.
I think my CAI, and the Flowmasters help with the gas mileage. Before I put those two things on, I was getting about 26 MPG when I first got the car.

I do not have a trip computer and never used them even on the rental cars. I always calculate gas mileage the old fashioned way (number of miles / number of gallons). The lifetime average for my 07 GT is 20-21 MPG. I do roughly 50/50 city and highway driving.
Arrow: How fast do you drive and what is your GT Coupe configuration (3.31s or 3.55s, 17" or 18" tires)? Seeing how I get only 22-23 MPG in mixed driving, I would not expect more than 25-27 MPG on the open highway at 70 MPH (the speed limit on most freeways here is 70 MPH).
Big engines tend to do really well on the highway if you leave the throttle alone.
Yea, It is!!! Stopped by our old church near St. Louis on our way home from that trip, and the new pastor and his wife grew up here in the Westland/Garden City area. LOL!! Very Small World!!
The best I have managed coming from California to Vegas was roughly 28 mpg according to the trip computer on a 300 mile trip. I had a hell of a tail wind that day and had the cruise set at about 78 mph with no AC. I wish I could do that all the time. I average about 19 in my day to day driving.
coming back from the shore with ours today I managed to squeeze 28 mpg in mixed driving. 1-3-5 shifts, driving real slow, Coasting up to lights, ac only on once in a while etc.. amazing...
Wake Forest, NC to Hebron KY. Route of I40 to 52 to I77 to I64 to I75. This is signifigant because of the terrain. I 77 up through the mountains I was getting an average of 27.5 with the cruise set to 70 using my GPS not my spedo. I did the entire trip with cruis set there as much as possible. I got down to I 64 in the rolling hills of KY and the Avg MPG dropped to 26.5 by the end of the trip. Can anyone explain this???? Drove around for a week 50/50 Hwy/City and then drove back 70MPH cruise yet again and ended up with a trip Avg of 25.5
Just did a trip to Columbus Ohio and back, which is roughly 1100 miles round trip. According to the trip computer I avg. 73 mph (followed a Sheriff doing 85 - 100+ for about 200 miles) and got 24.1 mpg on the way there. On the way back I was driving more like a sane person (speed limit +4mph) and avg. 59 mph while getting 29.2 mpg!!!
