2008 Mustang Order Guide out!!!!!
OK. The 500 and Freestyle are now the Taurus and Taurus X? I get why. But to market them as 'new' cars is just stupid. Where's the hybrids? OK - a hybrid Escape is noice but Focus still doesn't match Toyota for gas mileage. Either make a hybrid Focus or drop in a six spped auto tranny to boost mileage. Bold moves? What bold moves? This is a tough market and Ford needs to see well into the future. Why's my hybrid? I don't want to but a Toyota! Sorry - got off topic.
Those guys at Ford need to visit people looking at Fords at real dealerships.

The new paint color sheets are in, i saw them just the other day, tried to take some pictures but they are super reflective and they didn't turn out real well. The new silver has sort of a dirt look to it, think mineral gray but way lighter. It's almost a desaturated sand color. More silver than gold, but you can still see hints of brown/gold in the paint. The new red doesn't look any different than redfire from what i could see. Dark Highland Green was also in the paint sheets. I'll try for some more pictures tomorrow and see what i can do.
That would be great if you could get some pics! Thanks in advance!

I noticed some inconsistencies between this Price List and the Order Guide:
1) The Active Anti-Theft is not mentioned as a prerequisite for having HID Headlamps in the Price List (but other prerequisites for other options are listed).
2) Option 64D is listed as "17 inch Premium Painted Cast Aluminum Wheels" in the Price List, but is listed (with correct picture) as "17 inch Bright Machined Cast Aluminum Wheel" in the Order Guide.
3) Option 67D is listed as "Woven Charcoal Instrument panel" in the Price List, but is listed as "Charcoal Aluminum finish Instrument panel" in the Order Guide.
I'm not a error-finding nitpicker, but these are three options that directly affect me so I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these differences.
Also, if someone could point me to an '07 Price List and '07 Order Guide so I could do some comparisons to make some conclusions, I would be very grateful.

YAY.. Just what I have been waiting for...
If I can ask our resident experts, what is the difference in the Dealer Price and the Dealer Invoice With Holdback??
What is a reasonable price to pay? Half way between the Dealer Invoice and MSRP?

Well the car I ordered and cancelled came it at $27,798 which is close to the X-plan price I was going to pay.
+ ~$5850 in aftermarket items including grille, CAI & tuner, dyno tuning, wheels/tires, lowering springs, hood pins, fascia, hood, side stripes, and other misc items comes out to ~$33,648. Quite a bit less than I'm going to end up paying for a 08 Shelby GT.

Can you get a Shelby GT without Dealer Markup? The one I saw was 46K with 20K Adjusted Market Value equals 66K. Or are you talking about a different model of the Shelby?

So what does a shelby gt go for with dealer mark-up? Lowest I've seen them for an 07 was 40K on e-bay.
40k-33,500= 6500(give or take) Thats a whipple charger plus a few extra's if you want.
Down side of course it's not a Shelby!!!!

Lowest I've seen offered on the 2007s is $500 over invoice which would be in the mid $37K to $39K range depending on how it was equipped. I've seen them on ebay in this range too.
Right now there is a used 07 SGT with 5K miles for $35,000 on ebay.
So best case scenario, I'm probably looking at the upper $30s for a 08 SGT. You're right that I could get a whipple for the difference.
But then I could spend even more and get a paxton on the Shelby, but then I would be close to the GT 500 range, which is close to the GT 500KR, which is close to the GT 500 super snake, which is close to the Ford GT. When will it ever end?

FYI, I posted some pics of Candy Apple Red. Follow the link at the bottom reply. It looked a little darker then I might have thought, but I still like it!

2008's on the Lot
Talked to the dealer today, they said it would be about 4 weeks, or late July when they get their First '08s on the lot. Cant wait to see some of these Options in person before the order....
Can someone clear up what the different prices are?
What is "DEALER PRICE" vs "DEALER INVOICE W/HOLDBACK"?
How do these apply against the X plan and A plan pricing?
Thanks.
*EDIT - I think I've found my answer. DEALER INVOICE W/HOLDBACK is what xplan is plus the FDAF advertising Fee plus 2 gallons fuel less the .4 percent discount . The DEALER PRICE is what dealers pay and keep what holdback is left as profit. Something to do with the way they finance inventory. Sound about right?
