So, will 08.5 Bullitt replace the CS?

If the Bullitt doesn't release until December, does that mean the CS package will only be available for half the year? Or, will that change mid-year too, maybe with something new available?

Also, interesting that the 64B (18 inch V6 wheel) is brand new

Wonder if its an 18 variant on the 16 inch style wheel or something completely new

I think it's the Marauder wheel, it has the same description as in the Mustang's 07 Custom Wheel Catalog. That would be nice...

You have got to be kidding me! Man, do you guys know how hard it is not to hunt down GTO guys and bludgeon them into nano sized fine red paste when they wax on about how the Mustang is a poser performance car and Mustangers all wear frilly laced underwear!

thanks Ford, I'll be sending you all my hate mail as my GT rusts away and I sit in jail awaiting the final days of my life imprisonment term.

I would post this on a Brand X website for a few chuckles, but I think it best this little fubar be covered up and hidden away in the same manner as when you find out that the family tree in other parts of your family doesn't quite branch out like it should

Okay, I get it now, didn't read this far just yet. Is it some sort of program where donations are made from the sales of the car???

Just talked to my sales rep today and he said the HID lights should cost the same as the Lincoln. They were $495 MSRP.

That's not so bad unless you didn't plan to get the security system but wanted HIDs. That would be right around 1000 for HIDs then.

If they are the same price, are they the same components as the lincoln? How good have they been?

Anybody know when the first 08's are to show up at dealers? Im planning on ordering one next week but want to see how the ambient lighting is and what people think of the HID lights first.

Something like 6-8 weeks after June 1 I believe. I think on another post they said job 1 is on June 1.

I would expect some press photos available before that.

Nice, but...

While I'm glad to see HID headlights make the option list, Ford's continued omission of a manual shift feature (like Autostick, Tiptronic, Steptronic, etc.) for the automatic transmission baffles me. I realize Ford is rather strapped for cash at the present time, but how hard could it be to add this feature to the transmission? Same thing goes for the lack of steering wheel mounted audio controls. How hard could it be to add this feature?

Granted, though, this is just one man's opinion.

Last I saw, Job 1 was late June, like the 26th or something like that.

Which is kind of strange as the plant shuts down for two weeks around July 4th.

Exclamation 2008 Information

I spoke to a very knowledgeable salesperson today and he told me 2008 production begins on 06/17.

If I order it between now and then he said i would ahve it sometime toward the end of July.

Ford has had a "manumatic shifter" since June 1999. It's called SST (Select Shift Transmission). It has been available on the Lincoln LS (with the same 5R55 transmission that the Mustang uses).

My guess is Ford's SST is not available on the Mustang because the bean counters are worried that the extra torque in the 4.6L and younger, more agressive Mustang drivers would cause a major warranty problem if the SST was put on the Mustang.

Or they might not have thought of it.

Well, somebody should tell Ford that putting the SST on the Mustang might be a good idea (assuming it's still in the corporate parts bin, seeing as the LS ended production in June 2006).
