People who have weighed their cars have not come close to 3356 lbs for the full curb weight (full fluids, no driver) on a 2005-06 Mustang GT. Car and Driver weighs the cars they test, and they show weights of 3583 lbs for the 2005 Mustang GT they tested (MT, premium, Shaker 1000) and 3540 lbs for the 2007 Shelby GT they tested (MT, no Shaker 1000, and Shelby's don't have spare tires). Car and Driver weigh the cars they test with full tnaks of gas and no driver, which is the only way to get a consistent weight for a car.
we need to find the truth. I'm very curious to the difference between 05-06 vs 07+ weight. Since switching from a 06 gt to a 07 I feel ripped off that the car has an extra 127 lbs. We need to find someone with a stock 05 and 07 with the same option and find the actual weight.

I'll let you know if I can find a manual transmission 2005 or 2006 in the area here to weigh on my scales. I've weighed a half dozen different Mustangs in my shop, but so far mine is the only S197. Anyone in the central Ohio area have a 2005-06 GT 5-spd I can weigh? When spring rolls around, I might even try and find one for sale locally I can take for a test drive and bring it back to my place and roll it on the scales.

I'm just reading what the **** scale at Etown, NJ read on Nov. 16th around 3pm.

I do not have a spare or jack in the car, I had the OEM Prem 17's (not the heavier 18's), I do not have the Shaker 1000, I did not have a full tank of gas, and I do have 'some' mods. I'm not sure what the weight savings vs weight added is for those mods.

I know the Off-road mid-pipe saved a decent amount as did the Stinger Mufflers. I also know the CHE LCA's saved some over the OEM pcs, but I'm sure I offset that with the STB, A-arm brace, & Trq limiters. I doubt the SHR louvers are much of a savings over the OEM glass, neither is the Pioneer HU.

So... I'm sure if you tossed on the stock exhaust, filled her up, and tossed on the heavier 18" rims/tires I'd be another 75-100lbs heavier.. which would put me around 3450-3475lbs.

Make sure you compare the cars with the same options or make sure you know which mod it has. Then you can deduct the option weight.

Looking at the mods in your sig, the gt500 rims are probably the worst weight adder. The rims alone weight 28 Lbs. The stock 17" weight 21.6 so you increase the weight by 6.4 per wheel.
so about 25.6 Lbs add from switch from 17" stocks to gt500 wheel. I have heard that each pound of rotational weight is equal to 6 pound of car weight. 25.6 x 6 = 153.6Lbs.

The scales is going to see the 25.6 lb figure though, not the 153.6 lbs. That general calculation for rotational mass can be somewhat useful for virtually figuring out acceleration or other weight loss or acceleration, but isn't going to change the actual weight of the car beyond what the parts weigh.

I have a 06 GT Standard. Work in Dublin, live in Marysville.
No Shaker sound system, but I've added a few mods that would add to the overall weight; Shaker hood scoop,MRT rear window louvers,Magnum 500 wheels,CDC chin spoiler,LT headers,no cats,CAI.

Cool, I'm about 20 miles from Dublin. It would probably best to wait until after the first of the year since I'll be swamped at work until after Christmas and my shop is unheated, but if we have a clear day that isn't too cold, maybe we could weigh your car this winter some time. It only takes about 10 minutes to set everything up.

Remember that scales vary, sometimes a lot.

I weigh cars for autocrossing reasons.

An '05 GT on a set of lighter OZ wheels, no spare or jack and 1/4 tank was 3388.

The '07 Shelby GT I run on a set of Volk RE30 Forged wheels was 3436 with about 1/2 tank. No spare or jack, as they don't come with either... That was on certified scales @ Heartland Park Topeka during SCCA Solo Nationals, and those are the same scales used for SCCA's Runoffs. Consider the '07 has airbag seats the '05 doesn't an a little more gas and you are on the money.

And wheels have a HUGE effect. The OEM wheels weigh a ton, aftermarket wheels can be up to 9 pounds each, and more if you spend big money less--each. It's not hard for folks to gain or lose 25 pounds just in wheels and tires either direction.

Basically, say 3400 for a car without airbag seats or a Shaker 1000. Add about 100 pounds for those items.
