Mine does it too. I notice the car always seems to be warm inside. Not too bad for winter but in the summer

My 05 does it also. If you look at where the cats are on these cars you can see why it heats up there. I bet you could put up some sort of extra heat shield, it has the silver "padding" looking stuff but appearantly it's not enough.

Not really a big deal, the AC in these cars are really good.

+1. I've only noticed it on longer trips when it gets the chance to really heat up. I've never noticed it on short trips around town.

Can't agree more!!! The heat thru the firewall is horrible in these cars. At some point I'm going to try and put some sort of heat shield/reflector under the car.

I think it is due to the cats being located where they are. Maybe some High Flo's or moving them back a bit will resolve the issue.

I just went to Texas and back (from Alabama) in 95+ heat and I didn't notice it at all. The car cools down fast and is no wheres near as hot on the floor boards as my 97 GT was. It also has the ability to direct AC to the floor which my 97 didn't have.

I've had my 2007 for 3 weeks now, driven 800 miles, and I haven't noticed it

I 've had mine since February, and to me it doesn't have any more heat through the firewall than any other late model car I've owned. What car did you have previously?

You can use the air conditioner and direct airflow to the floor if it bothers you.

My '67 Plymouth with longtube headers ,no AC, and no insulation: now that car had excessive interior heat!

I've heard good things about SecondSkinAudio's Heat Wave.
http://www.secondskinaudio.com/cgi-b....cgi?pg=4&p=ps

3/4 of the way down the page.
Second Skin Heat Wave is a light weight, foil faced, fire retardant heat and noise insulation mat. This thermal-acoustic barrier is perfect for reducing heat and noise generated from vehicle engines and exhaust systems, as well as thermal insulation from the sun and radiant road heat.

They definitely run a little hot in the cabin, it's at least 30% worse than my '97 or any of my previous ones for that matter.

Go down to your local Lowes or Home Depot. Get some Ice Guard. It comes in a 6' roll. It is used on roofs. It is asphalt based. This will sound dampen and temperature control the footwells. Remove the carpet and install it on the bare metal surfaces. It is like Dynamat but alot cheaper. Try it.

I just turn on max AC, then turn off the AC, and set the fan to 1.

I dunno why, but that just fixes it. Think it's the recirculating air being picked up, if you will, from the floor, and then thrown out the dash, and then out the windows.

You did say this was with windows down, right? I never notice this with the AC on and windows up...
