Here's a link to the new 2008 EPA estimates for the Mustang. All 2008 Mustang models are listed. Not too bad really........

The new EPA estimates seem pretty accurate. I'm averaging between 17 - 18 MPG with combined city and highway driving. Sure beats the 11 - 13 MPG I was getting with my last '66.

Yeah, I'd say if anything they're now a little conservative?

I'm only getting 19 MPG with my V6 doing about two thirds city driving, so 17-18 would be pretty good.

unless, I hope that 17-18 wasn't on the freeway?

Actually, highway I get between 22 - 27.5 MPG. City, especially with traffic, is around 15 MPG. For the most part, I'm pretty happy with the gas mileage considering it's a V8.

Cool Great Highway MPG

With just over 1K miles now, did MPG test on an interstate round trip this week. Got excellent 24.6 MPG average at 70 MPH with the cruise and the air on the whole way. Humid Iowa summer and a flat highway. Nice surprise with this result. This was per the Stang's readout. Didn't calculate by the tank refill, because of earlier city driving on same fillup. Will average the city MPG next. Trust that the 5-speed stick is helping on this? Might try changing tranny and rearend fuilds, as a challenge to get just a little bit more highway mileage! Great power and mileage too! Thanks FoMoCo!!

Yeah, that's good mileage too. I think I saw that the new Honda civic only gets around 29 now with the new EPA estimates with a 4 banger. So, 25 MPG with a V8 is great!

Here's a link to the 2007 EPA estimate for a Honda civic.

I am not doing too bad then:

with 14K on the car, combined city and hwy driving (avg speed only 32mph on my commute) - I am getting consistent 20.3 mpg. And that is with me NOT granny-shifting.

I have yet to do a prolonged highway drive. I am pretty convinced the WMS CAI helped a little with mileage.

That's pretty good. I was wondering about the CAI if it helps with the mileage. Anybody else getting better mileage because of their CAI?

Those tests are usually waaaay off. Car and Driver did an article a while back about how awful the tests really were, I hope they're being changed. We have an 05 Mountaineer thats supposed to get like 20mpg on the highway, and we routinely get 27-28.

My 92 Stealth RT NA is rated 1 mpg higher city and 1 lower highway with the same combined rating. I'm getting 22-23 with it on my daily commute. This is taking it easy using cruise except when merging on the interstate. Only go through about 3-4 lights. Avg speed probably 60mph. I expect about the same out of a GT but with regular fuel instead of premium.

Well the new EPA estimes are supposed to be more conservative then the old ones. The old ones assumed that everything was perfect lab conditions and they seldom are!
