2007 Mustang Tail Lights

I have a question for the forum. I have 2007 Mustang V6, not a GT.

The right and left tail lights behave differently. The right one does a sequential on the lights when you use the turn signal or the brake, and the left one comes on all at once.

When I remove the lights, inside the lights is a small black box with two sets of wires and connectors coming from the box. When disconnected and swap sides, the sequential behavior clearly follows with the box.

I would like both the light units to be sequential, and this should be as easy as replacing this small black box unit.

Anyone have any idea what this box is, and where to get one?

Thank you,
Robert

Make sure your connections are wired properly from your wiring harness to your boxes on both left and right sides or they won't function !

I have verified good connections on both sides. Both sides are working, just working with different behavior. I am not the original owner, so I suspect the light/black box unit was replaced by prior owner.

Just curious where I can get the black box unit. I don't need a whole new light/wiring harness kit. Just the small black box unit.

Thank you,
Robert

Unless you know the brand of the sequential lights, it will be hard to fix. Also, most places will most likely not sell the parts. I would do as mentioned above, webelectrics.....

Your best bet will most likely be to buy the entire sequential kit for that light. You would need to know what brand it was to find the right box, and even then it might be rather hard to get just the box. Could check the FS section, or even ebay, and I've heard great things about americanmuscle.com

So you have a sequencer on one but not the other?
Odd.

Was the harness changed at any point?
You can get a 'do it yourself' sequencer kit as someone pointed out.WebElectric.
You'd have to splice it in. OR you can get the pre-done harness which plugs/plays.

I have had one of the splice kits go bad, but they replaced it right away.

I ordered sequentials for my 07 from american muscle. the right side went out and behaved exactly as yours are doing. They were still under warranty, so A M sent me new ones at no charge, but they sent me the complete set. I don't think you can get just one side, so you will either have to disconnect the sequentials on both sides or order a new set. On mine you could take the black box out and reconnect the wires and they would work like stock.

Thank you all for your feedback. Based on what you are saying I suspect the previous owner installed a sequencer, and one side is now mis-functioning.

Also thank you for the references to AM Webelectric.
