2007 Mustang GT
#1
The other day I got a call to test drive a car by this research company. They wouldn't tell me the auto maker or type of car. They just said since I owned a 5 speed manual transmission vehical that their database matched me up. The only reason I went with it is because they were going to pay me $75 for 1.5 hours. Why not?
Long story short.....it was a 2007 Mustang GT coupe. Differences on the test car were:
1. Heated Front Seats (buttons at the bottom of the dash)
2. Lighter clutch (I don't like this....seems whimpy)
3. 25 more HP and 20 more LBS torque
4. Improved suspension tuning...though I didn't notice much.
Anyway after the test drive I spoke with the Ford engineer to tell him my thoughts of the car. He wouldn't say too much nor anwser any questions......ummmm.
Thought you'd all enjoy!

Sort of off topic but kinda related (if that isnt a non-comittal schitzoid statement i dont know what is ... lol) however what happened to the 2005+ rumor section? I have been looking for any info on what may be coming in 07 and maybe even in 08 but with all the re-modeling in the forums cant seem to find that section now.
come on, where did ya hide it? you can tell me. i wont tell anyone else, promist ... lol.
oh, and is it just me or is that web electric banner kind of upside down? maybe its time for new contacts.

The banner was design that way to catch attention I think.

Are we sure the power increases aren't just a result of the new SAE tests? I mean, we already know the GT produces more than 300 HP right now so maybe they're just going to use new numbers from a new test and all 2005-2007's will be rated at 325 and 340.

But it still is a 25hp and 20tq increase and it might be a bit of a stretch to say that's what the actual car is putting out. And unless they put in a CAI style intake, they won't get too much more out of the stock airbox? Kevin, do you have any info on the new airbox? So if true, I figure it should be something else. And whatever that is, I want it
Also, the new SAE ratings probably won't make more than a 5hp difference. The Corvette Z06 was rated at 500hp using the old system and 505hp based on the new SAE ratings from an article I read recently.

I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here...
The first question should be: "Can ANYONE verify the validity of these claims?"
