2006 Pony Grille

Phantom26 pic has got the right idea. This is all about identity of 05 vs. 06. I think less attention was made for V6 vs. GT.
...and I don't want to see any V6 bashing here, V6 owners are the bread and butter and without them our mustang would go the way of the camaro. I always make it a point to support V6 mustang owners rather than compete with them.

Phantom26 - nice job on the revised grill w/o fogs. Since I have the Windveil Blue V6 I just love these 06 pony pics on my color. I keep looking at mine closely to see if it might be morphing into a Pony!

Thanks, I like it and think it is a little retro and a little modern with out the over kill.
Add the Fog lights and it gets too busy.

Fogs are too small
Honeycomb grids are too big
Fogs only belong on a GT
Pony needs to be set free
WOw........I guess I dont like it!!

The bars and the honeycomb make this '06 Pony grille way too busy! If I wanted a grille like this I'd buy a '65 or '67 GT, as this one is the spitting image of those cars. Way to retro for me!
In fact, on the '67 coupe I'm building now, I'm taking the bars off and using a '68 grille where the fog lights float by themselves outside the corral.

I like them. They look a lot like the 66 GT grille and add more to the classic feel of the car. The chrome does stand out more, but that's because there's virtually no chrome on the outside of this car. It looks good, but I like my big fogs better.

Yes, I'm sure most of it has to do with the greater than expected demand for the GT, along with CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) requirements that make it difficult for Ford to sell as many GTs as they would like. Hence a Mustang V6 that's not as emasculated as it might otherwise be. I can't complain, since I plan to buy one.
Now if they just added dual exhaust...
