2006 North American International Auto Show
I have plans to attend the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI on Jan. 14, 2006.
Is Ford going to have any Mustangs to see?? How about the 2007 GT-500 Shelby??
Just curious

Went to the International Auto Show here in Phoenix in November and I saw a Mustang GT convertible, the concept Shelby GT (looks like a chrome car), and a Ford GT all in the Ford display. Did not see any camaro or challenger concept. But it was a great show and alot of fun. They also had a 12 cylinder "biturbo" Mercedes for $195,000 at the show. There was a special display at the show the day I went displaying classic Mustangs and Ford had cars to test drive around downtown.

Way to go Dodge!
OTOH, I have to admit the Challenger looks pretty good. But what DCX vehicle hasn't lately? Too bad beauty is only skin deep.

Oh by the way, I checked the '06 NAIAS website and it's official, the '07 Shelby GT 500 convertible will be there...

I've read that the Challenger concept will definitely be there, as well as the Camaro/Chevelle concept. This year's shows will definitely be interesting. I think we'll see some major horsepower wars in the next few years, that is unless gas is $5/gallon.

You mean to tell me that FORD won't even have the production GT500 coup available for show. Figures. And you people think this will go on sell in June? I'm starting to think we won't see the coup for a while.

Honestly, I don't understand either why the Coupe seems not to be there...go figure.
They will be introducing the GT 500 convertible at the show. Ford will have a complete lineup at the show. I am not sure if the GT500 coupe will be open to sit in or not, there will be one on display for sure.
Last year they had all the SEMA cars there as well, so there were about 10-12 different cars in total. They had a convertible on the turntable and they had two cars open to sit in.

I think I'll probably go. The question is, do I drive the Mustang or not? I would love to cruise downtown and show off my car, but I won't do it if there is salt on the roads.
Anyway, I really want to see the challenger too. I mean the GT500 is great and all, but it's basically just a supercharged GT with a body kit.
