I'm interested in purchasing someone's 18" fanblades, who is looking to sell, when their '06 GT comes in. I would like to replace the 17" upgraded wheels on my '05 with 18" fanblades and 255/45/18 tires. PM me if interested.

Ed,do you mean the whole wheel is polised or just parts of it..When Amy posted the pics of the new pony with the blades, they were the ones that were only partly polished(the cented of the blades were silver:not polished). Her pics look just like the ones you and Brad posted...Anyways if they are all polished i will be one happy camper thanks for your help and for clearing up the mess with the 64e,w thing..much appreciated

Got a set of the fanblades yesterday (thanks kc!)

They are both polished and painted. The entire middle section (the actual "blades") is painted bright silver metallic. The edges of the blades, as well as the sections between the blades, are polished.

I'm reposting one of Amy's pics... the actual wheels look exactly like these (other than the center caps, which are the black pony tri-bars).

IMO these wheels look amazing, especially in direct sunlight. I'm putting silver metallic stripes on the car too, so it'll all work out just fine Fell in love with these wheels when I saw them on the 04 show car at NAIAS - the Bullits may be more "classic," but I'll always remember the first time I saw the 05 - with these wheels :worship:

I'll post pics once my tires come in... 255/45/18. They're on back order though

I think polishing the wheels will be expensive. Plus, there's a reason they are painted and not polished. If you start polishing the wheels and the castings are not the best, you will see all kinds of flaws in the wheels. Thats why most cast aluminum wheels are not polished, especially ones that have large surfaces. You might have someone start polishing them only to find out that you may need to paint them again because of the casting flaws.

If they were forged its a whole different story. Forged are highly compressed and therefore strong and this results in much fewer flaws.

ISELLFORD

Do you think there would be a way to work it out with my dealer for them to order the bullitts after the fact and when they come in, do a switch from the fanblades? MY car is supposed to be built the week of 8/8, I dont want anything to stop that, but im wondering if there is anything that can be done since both me and the sales guy thought that the 64E was the bullitts. I dont mind paying a bit more if there is a price difference between the two, but I dont want to pay twice.

What would you do if it was your customer?

Does anyone know how much more the Fanblades (64E) cost? Are they currently available or would they hold delay my current order?

Stu, the 64E option is $825 (retail)/$735 (dealer invoice). They are available and some members of this forum with this wheel order already have scheduled build dates. As far as delaying the orders, my dealer told me only 12% of vehicles built will have this wheel....there may be some wait. Can other dealers on here confirm this?

ISELLFORD...Since I just ordered my car, I am considering changing my order from 64E's to 64W's. Any ballpark idea on "Late Availability"??? Are we talking late 05 or early 06???

The debate continues.....anyway just thought I'd let people know what Ford told me when i called about a week ago now - they said dealer dealer order guide will be updated Aug 6 or 8 (cant remember) and that the ford website would also be updated so that when you "build your ford" it will be an 06, instead of an 05 as it is now. This doesnt help the 64E 64W saga, but hopefully come Aug 6 or 8 dealers or someone will know 100% what the heck is going on!!!!

I just received an email from my dealer. I'm buying a Mustang GT through AAFES car sales throught the military and I inquired about the 64W bullits wheels.

According to their corporate offices Ford informed them the soonest I can take delivery with the bullit wheels will be Nov.
I don't leave Korea until mid Nov anyway so I'll wait. I finalized my order today. Now I have to wait. I can't wait to get back to the family and to pick up my new Mustang.

I hope this is helpful...although I can't vouch for accuracy.

By the way the wheels are listed for $245.00 through AAFES. I'm jumping on that one.

Ok, my above post is inaccurate. Now I'm being told the 64Ws are TBD and I cannot expect delivery in Nov. It looks like I'm just going to take my second choice and, get the fanblades. I guess it would be dumb not to get them for $245.00 They are starting to grow on me. I am getting the Tungsten grey so they will probably look awsome anyway.

I know as soon as I order the fanblades with the car the bullits are going to become available. :bang:

Does anyone have any further information about the 64Ws and the availablity timeframe? Should I wait a week or two or am I just wasting my time? Maybe that's a question that could be answered by someone with some Ford experiance (salesman)?

This is going to be my first Ford purchase and it seems like Ford is a bit confused about it's marketing at times?

And besides LMPerformance.com already has the wheel replica bullitt's in 18 x 9 for 189 for all those disgruntled fanblade owners. They also have some sweet rims that are exactly like those on the GT500 concept.
