If you like the wheels thats not a bad price. Remember, you get wheels AND tires for that amount.

If you go aftermarket wheels and tires are going to cost you at least $1300 for the bullits and may not look as nice. If you are looking at other lightweight wheels, those are definitely more. You could sell your old stock 17" bullits, but then you have to deal with finding a buyer, possibly shipping them (expensive).

Yeah...that's what they said. My dad got one of those "personalized" '05 brochures from the web site last year. In it was a pic of chrome Bullitt rim with a spinner, but just a picture, no order information. A website flash video had that same picture. That is all any of us have seen of this Bullitt rim for the new Mustang, pictures, yet it's still available for Job1 and not the Fanblades. What's up with that?
I asked about those same chrome Bullitt's from the brochure and was told they are a Ford dealer installed item. Basically they are an accessory that cannot be ordered with the car. The price on them was $309 each wheel. Forget that, but I do like the look of em'.

Well, I ordered my 06 GT with the 64E option. I'm in the same boat as everyone else, don't know what these wheels are going to look like. But, I did read an old 05 GT article that talked about the fanblade rims coming out in 05. Also I found a link showing the fanblades with a pony center cap (below). My order says "18in Bright Machined Pony Center Cap". So, I think the 64E wheel is the semi polished fanblades on this link. Then again, they could be a better polished Bullitt with pony caps. Either way I think I'll be happy with it, I do have the option to update my order as long as the pics/details come out soon.

Hey Brad, please step in and clear up the confusion. I know you posted that the 64E is the polished bullit and its available right away, and the 64W is the fan blade with late availability, but you can see where the confusion is. If Ford was already working on the fanblades last year, one would assume that they would be ready for this year and the bullits would be the late availability.

I was hoping the 64E option was also the polished (or semi-polished) fanblades. From the order guide description, it would make sense...and the pic you included looks great. However, if indeed, the 18" is a polished bullitt with pony center cap, it might look this and wouldn't be bad either...

That website says that the "Premium Aluminum Wheels" are "Bullitt" style, and the order guide lists the late-avaliability 64W wheels as "Premium Aluminum Wheel" while the 64E are listed as "Polished Aluminum Wheel." This seems to point that it is the bullitts that are 64W. It would be nice for Ford to sort this all out.

Edit: Also, if you look at the page of the order guide with the wheels and the pictures (at least the ones they have shown so far) you will notice that the standard GT bullits are listed as "Premium Painted Cast Aluminum Wheel", the Pony package rims are listed as "Premium Painted Cast Aluminum Wheel w/ small Tri-Bar pony center cap" and that the 64W are Premium Aluminum Wheel. These are the only wheels with the words "Premium" and "Aluminum" in the description, and we know that 2 out of 3 of those wheels forsure are bullitts. I know this is kind of a stretch, but it seems Ford doesn't just throw the word Premium around, so this might mean something.

Also note that the "fanblades" are called "marauders" on the fordracing site, which may help with some of the confusion.

That would seem to indicate that the "marauder" wheels Brad has talked about are actually what everyone has been calling "fanblades" all along.

This is really making me nervous. I just changed my order to 64E because Brad's post says that those are the bullits. I don't want the fan blades, so I wish someone would get to the bottom of this. There is enough conflicting info here that it needs to be straightened out.

There has been a lot of confusion regarding the 2006 Mustang GT wheels, but this post will put an end to the madness!

64E: 18" Polished Aluminum Wheel w/Small Tri-Bar Pony Center Cap: Bullitt Wheel

64W: 18" Premium Aluminum Wheel, Late Availability: Fanblades

Folks...If Brad says 64E is the Bullitt then...64E is the Bullitt! I have never known Brad to mislead any of us.

We went through the same thing with Titanium/Tungsten being an 06 color. Brad said it would be an 06 option...and it is.

I find the amazing part being the pic's are not in the order guide to begin with. Especially, the fan-blades, what? they can't find a picture of the fanblade wheel? I can. :bang:

After looking at guide myself, this does make sense although that doesn't really mean anything now does it. Because if also look there's a "STAR" for "NEW FOR THIS MODEL YEAR"!! It's only next to the 16" Steel Wheel Std on V6 :bang:

Second, why the heck don't they just say "Fanblade" or "Bullitt" or "Split 5's", etc in the order guide to begin with. :bang:
