im interested to know if this is still happening on the newer cars (i.e. 2007-2008) from what i have seen most people have either a 2005 or 2006. or is it across the board and ford has been sticking their thumbs up their butt to fix this?

2006 GT Vert won't Start.

You can do like we did and trade it in for a Torch Red Roush 427 Convertible. Our 06 Torch Red GT Vert's battery was going dead in about a week if not driven! We had the 1000 sound system in the car and I blamed it on that ! Our Roush is 3 times the car our GT was. I never got to take rather sharp highway curves before doing 90MPH and the car still stayed planted. Roush has got that suspension down!!!!
Our new Roush ended up being 1 of 17 Torch Red 427 Verts made in 07! And I though a "BlackJack " was rare!

FINAL OUTCOME

The dealer deemed the problem to be a bad battery and replaced it under warranty. They also filled the driver's sice A pillar to stop a squeak in the top. I hope that fixed the problem.

On another note, I also asked the dealership to check a squeaking brake, I think from the passenger side rear wheel. The dealer told me they would charge me $25 to inspect it. If it was deemed a warranty issue, they would refund the money. If it was normal wear and tear, they would keep the cash. My car only has 14,000 miles on it. I can't see how it could be due to normal wear. The service manager would not budge. I called Ford. They said they can not control what dealerships charge for service. I talked to the rep who sold me the car. He forwarded me to the sales manager, who could not make the call and forwarded me to the general manager, who was not willing to budge. This is how Ford and its dealers take care of their customers. The general manager practically laughed at me over the phone. He said it may be my driving habits. I told him it’s a manual car. I downshift more often. To cause poor brakes at 14,000 miles, I'd have to accelerate with the brakes constantly on for the entire time. I do understand that they cannot see how a driver does drive, but at 14,000 miles, come on. My last Mustang brake pads lasted over 50,000 and that was an auto. This is the second Mustang I have bought from this dealership. In addition to that, I had to wait 8 months for my 2006 to come in, and when it did, they gave me the privilege of paying full MSRP. Clearly they do not stand behind the cars they sell. I just don't feel I should have to put up money for something that’s not a normal wear issue at such low mileage. Have others run into similar scenarios? How did your dealer handle it?

DON'T BUY FROM JACK TREBOUR FORD IN RANDOLPH, NJ!!!!

Then they'll print on the invoice, "normal working operation" I can only hope my battery dies again before the last year of the warranty is up.

Yes again I'm a few years behind because I have not had one issue with my 2006 GT Vert!!
I have an 06 GT. It's been 6 years of driving excitement. I store it every year. It has 34,000 miles with the original battery. Just recently It started (didn't start) to act up.

My conclusion is the CD player. turn it off but before doing so change it to AM/FM as the Shaker 1000 CD drains the car after a week in colder temps!

Battery, I had a Optima yellow top for 7 years and then same issue, jumped it til I got home, it died after shutting off, so I replaced it. Gotta get one for the new GT, those batteries rock!
