A fob brand new is $80, I think. Just the current key with transponder code is $100 I think... so...add the two together...?

Presto

A new key and separate key fob for a '99 golf i used to own was $70CDN including the key cut. i doubt a cheapie ford fob would be $80USD....

regardless, i'm sure the internal board of your mustang fob could be taken out and modified to fit into the fusion key, as long as the fusion key head is large enough. my real concern is the RFID (or whatever it is) chip that's imbedded in the key to allow the car to start...dunno how that works.

Don't have much information on the keys other than it looks like they currently on back order or unorderable, and showing like a $43 dollar starting price on the computer, if thats the case, I know how many i'll be getting, programming should be easy as long as you have your current two keys shouldn't even have to hook it into the computer.

Kind of funny....my dealer gave me a new key and FOB when I had the front end suspension TSB performed... LOL

i can't really tell, but is that 4th button a trunk release button or a remote start? the little pic on the button doesn't really look like the trunk (normally they are blue, right?) but i went onto ford.ca's fusion site and it describes the button functions as being lock/unlock/panic/trunk

Just what the dealer told me when I inquired about an extra set. I thought it sounded high. Guess he was padding after I got the car on X-Plan.

He did give me a 3rd fob for free though when I got the car.

:notnice:
Earl Tindol Ford in Gastonia NC
1997 Ford Explorer XLT
2 New Keys (cut / programmed) $110.00
2 New fobs (programmed) $89.00
Cost my wife $213.44 (with tax) (my ex wife that is )

I was so pissed off because she hadn't called me and went ahead and paid them for it (well, she didn't want me to know she had lost the "extra" set of keys too)

Just 'another' reason I don't use them for anything. Might also be that $59,000 "Limited" edition V6 vert that they are trying to stick someone with....

Later....
Jay

I just got my VIN so I think, as long as the keys are in the Parts System, that I'll just order one and test it out to see if I can't get it to work.

Count me in as well, once they're available. Huge improvement.

I know it's a small (and pretty much insignificant) detail, but I was disappointed when I saw the key/keyless entry on the Mustang when I picked it up - I could have sworn I bought a 2005, not a 1995.

Extra Button is for EJECTOR SEAT OPTION. lol I will Post update as soon as ROTUNDA TOOLS Calls me back. We will have a FUSION next week. I hope They do not lose the Keys! It's amazing FORD made such a BIG DEAL about the Keys yet nobody at FORD knows anything about them. GEE WHAT A SURPRIZE! BTW I think The Mustang BULLITS would LOOK tough on a FUSION. I think they will fit!

Keys will Be available the end of the Month. Ford still does not know if there is an alternate Key. So I can Not Cross reference to See if the Mustang is Going to accept the Key. I have them on order. It may be Trial and error. They will Sell for approx. $90.00 to tms Members. These Keys come in a box of Ten for FORD, LINCOLN and Mercury Apps. So do not be surprized if your local Dealer does not want to Jump on Stocking these. STAY TUNED!
