2005 Stock gears

I cant remember, but I think I recall there being some gear options back in 2005 or 2006. My car is a manual, and no gear options are listed on the window sticker... so what gears do I have?

Reason I ask, is that my dad's '06 seems like it is easier to get going... as in you don't have to give it as much gas before letting out the clutch as i do with my car.... almost like he is running a higher gear than me. is it possible that he is running 3.55s and I am running 3.31s? or something like that?

Mine were 3:55's and as far as I know that was stock on the 05 manuals , not sure if they were an option on auto's ...

I believe on 2005-2006 models you got 3.31's in an auto and 3.55's in a manual Mustang.

Starting in 2007 3.31's became stock for both with 3.55's as an option on a manual.

Cody - look on the back of your pumpkin and there might still be a sticker on there, mine's still there but I don't see much rain or anything.

I think this is correct.

mmm....so what could cause the noticeable difference in driving? It was the very first thing I noticed when I first drove it. His has only 12,000 miles on in.. mine just turned over 40,000...maybe wear?

I'd doubt it's compression loss, but could be differences in the clutches, clutch wear, etc.

Maybe Cody should try that gas pedal reprogram thing. I don't remember what its called or how you do it, or even if it honestly works, but its worth a shot for a minute of your time. Anybody know what I'm talking about and have a link?

I remember reading about it, but nothing more. Something about turning the car on (but not starting it), and holding the gas to the floor a certain number of times, or length of time, or something. But no, your not crazy.

all v6's are 3.31's from the factory - no optional ratios.

If you don't know, just look at the rear axle. It should have what's called an 'axle tag' which will display the gear ratio.

This is correct, like a few others have stated, just wanted to add another confirmation.
