[The 2nd set of #'s (last page) have to be the correct #'s.

HP = (torque * RPM) / 5250

If you plug the #'s in, the ones on the last page make sense and the first #'s do not.

Also, there is no way the V8 will have peak torque @ 5400 RPM (it would work out to 330 HP if it did).
Are you sure about this? Torque and HP curves always cross at 5252 rpm, but I can't get your equation to work out. [/b][/quote]
:scratch:

How do they not work out.

Example

Torque = 300
RPM = 5252
What is the HP?

(300 TQ * 5252) / 5252 = 300HP

So they are equal @ 5252 RPM

* is symbol for times (multiplication) is this clearer?

HP = (torque X RPM) / 5252

Here's a reference if you want it: http://www.car-videos.com/articles/h...wer_torque.asp

Also note that the order guide specifies the width of the 05 @ 74.0". Not the 72.1" most of the car rags said back in January.

Hum....so almost 2" wider with a 1" wider track. You definately notice that. At the autoshow, the new car looked significantly wider than the current car for this reason and especially because of its lower stance.

Actually compared to the 99-04 the track is about 2" wider (both front & rear) and the overall width is 1" wider. I'm sure that wide track contributes to the aggressive look of the 05.

Mustang .........99-04 ...... 2005
Front Track ...... 60.4 ....... 62.3
Rear Track ...... 60.6 ........ 62.5
Max Width ....... 73.1 ........ 74.0

You're right, I had my numbers flipped. A 2" increase in track is definately going to make for a wider looking car and more importantly, help out in the handling department.

Oh I know I know !!

maybe that's why he calls me first thing- to get it out of the way and over with..

I went by there tonight, and didn't go in, I was very proud because both oranges are still there

Here's to hoping Eleanor will have a nice 2 car garage to park herself in this time tomorrow..

Eleanorsmine, there IS going back, you'r enot BOUND to buy the car now, unless you signed a Buyer's guide (PLEASE tell me you did not do this)

Just know you have options until September/October.

Thank you Brad for backing me up on ordering on Monday, i SWEAR to you the order bank is not open yet people, but give me a computer and ill make you think it is! 'Confirmation' is in my hand to prove it, go back in on Monday and double check the bloody thing! Dont say i didnt warn you, and i barely glanced at the 04s and 03s at my dealer, my mind's done been made up.

And yes, it always makes you feel good to know more than the dealer, i felt that way when i almost bought a Focus ZX5 ( i know...i know...) and i feel even more so that way now. My dealer was shocked i had an order guide in my hands, since no one else at the dealership had one. And it's great to know i can pre-order in July, but not till then, and how long of a line they've got from now till then. Please.

I might just drive to Ted Britt Ford in Chantilly and ask for a Kevin B....rown or somethin, or handle biness. (that's business for non-hip folks)

You know I didn't! I put it together in a computer over the phone, but it did not go any further than that. I haven't even begun to stress over ordering, I actually calmed down on that for the moment. Thats to keep the "impulses" from going crazy.

The day that happens you will be hearing my screams of joy all the way up there in Virginia

Eleanor now officially has a nice garage to live in!I guess for the forseeable future, its Snowflakes garage. I live in Stepford for about 48 more hours(Yes we have those robots here, only they are freak robots, not perfect wife ones). you would have to experience it to understand it.

Not to change the subject here, but I see in the order guide that you can order the V6 with a "Exterior Sport Appearance Package". I would like to get a GT with the tape stripe on the rocker panel, is this an option on the GT? I know that it has been discussed that there is always after market but how about order option?
