I was told by our Ford Rep that the Ok to ship was announced on Friday. Also, our Regional Shipping Mgr. confirmed today. So I would say they're on their way.

Amen on the 500. In stalking my dealer, I happened upon the 500's they took delivery of in the middle of the night.... I was hoping the stangs were being dropped that night
The 500 looks like a well appointed car, subtle styling. Does not do the pictures justice. I think it is a nice alternative to those who do not like the 300C, wanting the more subtle look.

My brother used to live in Seattle he ordered a 2000 V6 Mustang and when it shipped his dealer gave him a tracking number for the train car it was on. He then used BNSF's website to track the traincar to the trainyard. It arrived at the trainyard and set there a week before he called his dealer, later that day he took delivery.

BTW, I got a chance to look over the new 500's this past weekend. They are really nice ! I liked the look with the 18" wheels. The dealer said that with all the new cars, and especially with the Mustang, that it is a good time to be with Ford. I sure hope so, you folks work hard, and it would be so great to see Ford take the lead in their markets.

My dealer called me today with a status update. The Latest and the greatest....Produced, Delivery TBD. He was thinking the system will be updating tonight and will be checking on it tomorrow. One step closer!

Looks like the 05 can come non too soon for ford. There sales figures for sept our out,and it shows a decrease of 11.6% ytd...
2004 sept sales = 6,333
2003 sept sales = 8,763
(-27.7%)
2004 sept year to date = 94,468
2003 sept year to date = 106,890
(-11.6%)
2003 totals sales where 128,101 so i estimate using the -11.6% decrease in sales till sept that the total 2004 sales will be about 113,241.And if this estimate holds true,it will make the 2004 model year as the 4th slowest year of sales in the history of the mustang...
ford hurry hurry hurry get them 05 in the showrooms soon...think of your shareholders!!!
ps: sales figures come from

2004 was a shorter production year since the mustang moved to a new plant. Production stopped in April or May I believe.

Production of the 2004 Mustang did end the first week of May, but Ford still has 25,000 2004 Mustangs still sitting on dealer lots, waiting for someone to buy them.
The reason why 04 Mustang sales are slow, is most customers know the 2005 will be out very soon and that's what they want.
