#1
The eagerly anticipated new 2005 Mustang has already begun arriving in dealer showrooms, and Ford is introducing the newest version of its beloved pony car in a marketing campaign befitting its status as an automotive icon. Themed “The Legend Lives,” the advertising approach is built around one truth: The 2005 Mustang is the embodiment of authentic, untamed American spirit.
Ford and J. Walter Thompson USA have teamed to develop a comprehensive marketing plan that draws on Mustang’s heritage and is designed to resonate with today’s customers. Utilizing a combination of mass media (television, print, and digital), events, grassroots campaigns, consumer drives, and one-to-one communications, Ford's fully integrated Mustang marketing campaign will connect to customers in very innovative, relevant, and effective ways.
And it all started on Monday, November 1! If you haven't checked it out already, stop by www.fordvehicles.com to experience the totally new Mustang web module - featuring lots of cool stuff, including authentic sounds from the car, wallpaper and loads of info.

The 2005 Mustang may just be arriving in showrooms, but millions of consumers around the country have already had their first close-up look at the new car, thanks to Fun Ford Weekends, Ford Innovation Drives, the Ford Experience Tour, and Mustang Club of America Events. These events, held in large cities as well as in small towns throughout the country, have helped introduce several generations of fans to the new Mustang.
And the numbers prove that customers are extremely thrilled about the 2005 Mustang. How thrilled? Well, consider the fact that Days-To-Turn are at only 6 for the V6 and 3 for the GT! Now there's something for us all to be excited about!
Finally, take a look at just how far some people will go to experience the new Mustang:
There was a new 2005 Mustang on the back of a trailer on its way to a dealership in Virginia. While stopped at a light, two vehicles behind the trailer got a look at the new Windveil Blue Metallic Mustang. They followed the trailer all the way to the dealership where the general manager greeted them and the new vehicle.
A customer at a dealership in Texas wanted his Mustang so much that he insisted on paying for transportation to/from the Kansas City Mixing Center to pick it up himself -- he couldn't wait any longer! He later took delivery and drove home a happy man.
A Ford dealer from Missouri reports that he has been in the car business for many, many years and has never seen anything like the traffic the new Mustang has driven to his dealership. People stop by and just stand to look at the car. He have even kept the showroom open later than normal every night since it's arrival just to satisfy customers' thirst for this new car.
