2005 mustang gt auto sct tuner question
Hey guys, I have an 05 mustang gt auto and I recently got the sct x4 tuner. I've been running the 93 octane tune and its pretty impressive, but I would like the shifts to be a little more crisp and a little less overdrive. I don't know if its safe to play with the timing and that to make a little more power and I didn't wanna do it because my car only has 12k miles. Does anyone have any insight on what the best setting are for the tuner for crisp shifts and max power ?

Who is your tuner? You can ask them to do some data logging to firm up some of the parameters & what not.
I can't speak to the device & making changes, but if you already have a tuner, they can work with you.
If you are looking for a new tune ... then you can look towards Steeda & our single tune or tunes for life!
Our tunes will increase the throttle response of the car for quicker take-offs.
We alter the transmission shift points at part and WOT.
We alter the firmness of the shift at part and WOT
Our shift firmness is different for different throttle settings.

I take it you are using the canned tune that comes with the X4. You will need to get a custom tune from one of the online tuners, or get an local dyno tune, to be able to change the shifting parameters on the car. I would suggest sending this guy an email manuel@tudyno.com He is one of the best tuners for the 3v and will not only get your shift points where you want them, his tune will be far superior to the SCT canned tune. He will fix you up at a reasonable price also. He does a lot of tuning, from stock to 1000+ hp cars, on another forum that I hang out on.
