They are almost acknowledging that their antenna design stinks.
For '06 when the Sirius is introduced we need an Antenna Delete option.

I really wish FORD would stop showing the 18" fanblades on the car since they still are not available :bang:

Thank you! Great point! I suppose they're playing the nostalgia card again by leaving the fixed mast antenna in place. In this day and age, technology has enabled us to hide antennas or make them less conspicuous. Why then, other than style, do we need them?
In this day and age? Antenna embedded in the windshield was available at least in 1970, that year's Camaro had it, and reception was fine.

An antenna isn't nostalgia, it's a cost cutting measure.

I have never really been a big fan of the verts, I prefer the fastbacks, but that is a beautiful car. Ducktail it and I would seriously consider buying one instead of a Cobra or Mach in the future. Even better, the Cobra vert that you mentioned in another post Brad.

My sarcasm never translates well in posts. I was trying to say that cars without fixed masts are commonplace. As you indicated, they have been for years.

The masts are absent in EVERY promotional photo I have ever seen of the new Mustang. If Ford retained the fixed mast for cost-cutting purposes, and then omitted them from publicity photos, they must realize the antenna is uncomplimentary. I just figured that the fixed mast was used because it had always been used.

How much more would it cost to integrate the antenna into the windshield? I mean, it's just a wire, right? It seems to me it would be a whole lot simpler than making provisions for a mast (ie. holes in sheet metal, wires, grommets, seals, what have you).

I don't like the fan blades. I wish they offered the upgrade wheels in 18" and they made the Bullitts deeper and bigger.
I second that thought...especially the bullitts!

Here in Canada, the vert is $4000 above coupe. Which is $3,236 U.S.

My numbers based on comparing the msrps of gt premium and deluxe coupe vs. convertible models which appear to have the same options indicates a $4770 us dollars increase between coupes and convertibles.

Isn't that a larger increase than in the past?

Looks great! Notice the use of an IUP equipped vehicle to launch the vert? That should say something to all those doom-sayers that believe the IUP is dead. Good news for everyone today.
If you go to any Ford dealership and try to order an 05 (vert or coupe) they will tell you that you can NOT add the IUP option until further notice,,,,,
Ford is still dealing with the lawsuit,,, thats the reason,, not because of what "doom-sayers" say!

I think it reminds of Mazda in a way. Does look better than the pictures I have previously seen. I think it needs to be lowered with wider wheels or something, because the back doesn't look right
