I was fortunate enough to have my car delivered Friday afternoon, just in time for a fun weekend. I had dropped off my JBA axlebacks at the dealership last week, and requested they install them for me once the car arrived.. They were nice enough to do it, and not charge me....very cool! Also, I had left a disposable camera with my salesman and asked him to get pictures of the car being unloaded....which he did. One of the other salesmen went out and took pictures of him taking pictures....pretty funny.
The car exceeds my expectations, I couldn't be happier! It handles superbly...the steering is so tight and precise. The acceleration is great, and knowing it will get better the more miles driven is very exciting! I did full load break in, taking it up to 5800 rpms quite a few times in 3rd and 4th gear. I'm a firm believer in breaking it in like you plan on driving it for the life of the car. With the modern machining and honing processes, the days of babying a new engine are over....just don't do the constant rpm thing for the 1st 1000 miles. I changed the oil this afternoon at the 200 mile mark. The oil was definitely blacker than I thought it would be.

Thanks Donna! The only thing I got done was the K&N filter. My G/F had relatives visiting so I didn't have as much time to do things like that. I'll have time during the week though.
Thanks Jack! Love the Windveil Blue!!
Tom, the car doesn't become common in a few weeks either, I've had mine since November and still enjoy driving it as much now as when I picked it up.
By the way, best to keep her on the pavement so as not to run over a gardener or somptun!

That's great, Tom! Nice pix too. Did I tell you this car was cool or what? It sounds like you're giving your baby a good start. Love those JBL axel backs. Those roll-tipped pipes should be standard on EVERY 'Stang!
Drive carefully! :drive:

I've heard that the first oil has some additives in it to assist in the break-in. I think it is best to give it a slower break-in. I don't think the high R's hurt it but I have noticed my GT is much snappier after 2500 miles.

Is there ANY evidence at all that theres some magical oil additives?
Awesome Tom!!! I know you've been waiting for a long time but it looks like the payoff is here!!! I've racked up 500+ miles on my new Redfire and it is only about a week and a half old!!! It is SOO much fun to drive.
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!

That's definitely not true. It's the same oil that's put in at the factory. I bought a case of oil and three filters while I was at the dealership picking up the car.
