My main reason for going with the michelin's was the tread life rating of 400. Since the car is a highway cruiser, that was somewhat important to me. Plus, I found a set of 4 that had 9.5/32" (out of 10 new) for $460 shipped!! Can't beat that

Personally, I LOVE Bridgestone, and have had great successes with them [for example, on a set of RE750's (treadwear 320), I went ~11,000 miles and only used 2/32" of tread.....not bad, and that should give you an idea of my driving].

But in my size, Bridgestone only has the RE050 (with a treadlife of 180) and the S-03's (with a treadlife of 220, and are now becoming discontinued). So, on a proportionality scale of the same brand, I couldn't see only having 2/3 the tread life as I had with my RE750's.

There are many companies with 220 ratings (such as the Goodyears, Yokohama, and then some other brands that I don't care for), that all may have been alright for treadwear, but I couldn't pass up the deal on these Michelins.

yeah, sure cant beat that deal thats for sure. Hell i wouldn't pass it up, lol.

My Goodyears were 210 a piece at cost! 300 tread rating I believe.
I just did an adjustment on 2 because they were half worn already! Too many smokey burnouts and road courses, lol. Replacements cost me about 25 bucks each.
