10,000 mile service appointment

Our '07 GT (totally stock) hit 8,000 a week ago. Coincidentally, in the mail Friday comes a coupon from a local Ford dealership I take her to. It mentions that it is nearing time for the 10,000 service. My question: most of what is included is oil/filter, tire rotation, a look-over, topping off fluids. Would this be a good time to have the cabin filter replaced? If you've done it, how much did they charge?

i really wouldn't recommend spending the $$$ for a 10k service. the big intervals you def want to do, like 30k, 60k. the car is practically brand new. so I don't what there is to look over. if you've got some experience turning the wrench, do the oil change and the tire rotation yourself, as well as the cabin air filter! save that money and put it towards some mods! most dealers charge an arm and a leg to change that cabin air filter, when its simply a $20 filter and takes 5 min to replace. and most cabin air filters are good till 15k.

Thanks. It is due for an oil change and filter. I can rotate the tires. The cabin air filter - when it gets bad, do you notice more of an odor in the car? This car just isn't out in bad conditions so I'd think the filter would at least make it to 15,000 without needing replacement.

have to agree with you on the filter. Take it out and look at it anyway. How often do you change your oil?

I kind of go by time, not mileage (obviously). 6 months and then I'll change the oil and filter, checking frequently to see if I need to add any. I use the Ford blend for the 4.6 V-8. In 12 months, I will have put between 2,000 - 3,000 miles on the odometer.
