Put a sign on the wheel. "Warning: loud click is just your seatbelt working normally." The first noise I noticed on the test drive besiddes the exhaust note was the signal blinker. It has a very unique retroish sound.

Funny enough the new setup has a very loud CLICK when it ratchets into position, now every test drive starts with 'what the hell was that?'

I stopped using them after a couple weeks because it became uncomfortable on my hip bone where it rests and if I raised up it would be on my stomach defeating the purpose of the lap belt.

They did solve the problem with the belt cutting into my neck though.

I can only presume they still dont have a fix for the Vert's... My seatbelt stap rattles due to it rubbing against it, when the top is down...this would fix my problem, but no where to mount it.

I had the same problem. The info that comes with the extenders indicates they should only be used by those who are too large for the regular seat belt, or words to that effect.

I went to an auto supply store and purchased one of those fleece covers that wraps around the belt. It helps somewhat by softening the sharp edge that digs into my neck, although the belt still rides too high IMHO. It needs to be mounted lower on the B pillar.

Ok, first time interacting with the extender arm yesterday. I can't see any way of living without these. In fact, I already have to reach semi-uncomfortably to grab the seat-belt. I can't imagine having to reach 3-4" further than that.. But I agree, not the prettiest.

I agree. I like the extenders. The seatbelt would definately be too far back without them. I also don't notice the clicking sound everbody else mentions.

I would imagine the hard mounting points are the same for all cars Funny, I never thought there was anything resembling an effort to put the seat belts on in the first place... Maybe people can go to the junkyard to get some old swivel seat mounts to make it even easier to get in Hasn't anyone here ever sat in an exotic car before?

oh something like that.....

my father in law works at a manufacturing place... they have a big waterjet machine.

he's offered to make anything i need out of pretty much any material, at cost. stainless, aluminum, polished aluminum, any thickness.

he just does the stuff when he has spare time, so there could be a little wait, but once we get a good prototype made he will have the program saved and can crank out 20-30 at a time when he gets a chance.

these just slide on under the headrest. the headrest doesnt really move that much so i had no trouble with them moving around at all. they stayed in place for me and hold the belt perfectly....

as you can see the belt sits nicely on the seat when not in use... ive been reaching for them for so long it was weird just reaching right there for them.

these are just plate aluminum cut to size and then i took a wire wheel and went over them to give them a little bit of a brushed look. it also shined up the edges really nice.

anyway let me know what you guys think of these. how many people would want them? what do you think they are worth?

thanks!

i think these would look good too if they were painted black or even powdercoated. i debated spraying mine black just to see how they would look. i will have him run some more off and then maybe make a test set.

no it actually fits very snug. you have to keep the headrest down all the way to keep it in place, otherwise it can float up and down too easy.. but i made the holes so it just fits perfect. no rattles or anything.

i have mine in and will leave them in for R&D. if i get any problems i will post up asap.
