'07 Cobra expectations

If we are wishing...I would love to see an IRS equipped larger bore (read 5.0 or 5.4 3 or 4 valve) naturally aspirated Mustang, with a nice tranny (read t56 or similar) whether it be a special edition or Cobra model. I agree with ducktails too. And this may not bother anybody else, but I think that the grill needs to be fixed, with some of it open and some closed (esp. around the Mustang emblem and around the fobs, and the lower air ducts), I just don't think it looks as good as the rest of the car.

Didn't Ford say they were aiming their sites at BMW's M series with the new Cobra? If that is so, then keep in mind that the new M5 (a four door sedan) has a 5.0-liter V10, fitted with individual throttle butterflies, variable valve timing, dual-flow stainless-steel exhaust system and a stratospheric 8250-rpm redline. The engine delivers 507 hp at 7750 rpm and 383 lb-ft at 6100 rpm. The engine is mated to a third-generation, seven-speed version of BMW’s sequential manual gearbox (SMG), now boasting 20 percent faster shift times. With 11 different shift programs, six in manual mode and five in automatic, the driver can tailor the gearbox’s action to suit the conditions.
If BMW M series power and quality is their goal, then I doubt they will be getting rid of any sound proofing material. I just want them to remember who can afford this car, who are generally of an age who passionately desire the styling cues of Shelby's 1967/68 GT500 Cobras.
